I grew up frequently visiting this station and all the great men who manned it. Jahnke, LeMaster, Birklebach, and a whole list of honorable men served with my father Roland Curtis "George" Friery. These men and their families were my family in those days. And I remember them fondly. They taught me right from wrong. They taught me to shoot pool and pitch washers. And they taught me to care for others.
Now living in Fort Smith, Arkansas, I honor their memory on occasion by bringing a cake, pie, stack of pizzas, or some other thing to the various stations in my new home.
God bless these men and those memories.
The Houston Heights Fire Station was the perfect wedding venue for me and my husband! We had a wedding of ~100 guests, so we used the downstairs area for cocktail hour, the upstairs for dinner, and the downstairs again for cake & dancing. Dewayne Ross, the new coordinator at HFS, was a joy to work with - so responsive to every question and tour request. We even ended up booking him to handle our linen and furniture rentals. The venue itself is clean and beautifully maintained - the perfect vibe for our classic wedding. The best part is the venue is BYOB - we could buy alcohol from Total Wine and have our caterer serve it - which helped us easily customize our bar menu and save A LOT of money. Highly recommend!

Houston Event Bartenders recently had the privilege of serving guest here at at a great wedding! The venue provided a mobile bar with the space. One thing that we really liked was the ample storage place to store equipment while not in use. Setup and breakdown here was a breeze. This venue is central located and we did not have any issues finding parking! I would definitely recommend this venue to Houston couples and event planners. We look forward to working here in the future!
You know, they don't make buildings this good any more. A very scenic and historical building from Houston's past. I would love to have my 50th birthday here in 3 years, well if it's allowed. One ff many highlights of the heights.
Beautiful venue with tons of possibilities!
