  Beautiful family park, walking trail.

  Plenty of space for walking/running on paved or natural trails. Long or short non-paved trails that are decently maintained (cleared of brush). Nice scenic overlooks. Good spots for catch and release fishing. Spacious sports fields for practice or games. Plenty of parking available. Pretty flora and fauna too.

  The “primitive” trail is my favorite trail in Austin. I wish it was longer (only about 2.3 miles) but it will provide anyone with a challenge. As maintenance is deliberately minimal to avoid interference with nature, it can get a bit overgrown but it’s always easy to follow. There are rattle snakes - you’ll occasionally hear them but they’ll leave alone as long as you don’t do anything stupid and stay on the path. I’ve only seen one once in the dozens of times I’ve hiked this trail. There are lots of birds, flowering plants, and other wildlife to look at. I would not recommend this trail for small children or anyone with mobility or knee issues. It’s very angular and there are some fairly steep paths. It’s by no means a Rocky Mountain trail but for a flatland urban trail it’s challenging.

  We loved all the available play equipment and this park has a great picnic area. We didn't get a chance to hike but will go back to do so. There is plenty of space for soccer or softball practice as a family. Very clean and had a few places to use the restroom.

  Always love being able sit and breathe here. Great place to be with kids or friends. Good playgrounds, good fields, and good trails. Nice skating too ?
