“Customer service at this location is much better than others I've visited. Attentive staff that understands going a little further makes a difference. Went to purchase a new smoker and was greeted at door with a welcome. Was approached in the outdoor cooking section and was informed of stock levels and options for pickup and delivery. Decided to purchase. Was shown all stick on hand and asked to choose the one I preferred. Checkout was simple and staff was pleasant. I have not had great experiences at other locations, but I'll check this one out in the future if I need to go to Academy.”

“I was coming all the way from the other side of town during rush hour and I called asking if they could stay open 5 to 10 minutes later because of where I was coming from. The guy I spoke with, Kyle was super understanding and allowed me to show up a few minutes past their closing. He knew exactly what I was looking for when I called earlier and was able to direct me in the right direction of their caps section where I was looking for a USMC cap for my Dad for Christmas. Kyle was super knowledgeable & after I asked his opinion, he shared with me his thoughts and helped me make the best decision! If I had more time, I probably would've shopped some more! My sister works in retail and I hear it all...Many associates, upon greeting a customer, get ignored or scowled at. Women like to shop at their own pace, so a good sales associate knows that, and unless her company is forcing her to greet everyone, you let the customer look and then you greet them unobtrusively when you see that they need help. Also, being a sales associate is one of the most tiring jobs there is, so please stop being such prima donnas with your 'after a long day at work' comments. Upon reading these comments, I fail to see horrible customer service, but what I do see is HORRIBLE women who would like to humiliate a fellow woman because of their superior attitudes. And if a store is closed, be CONSIDERATE to all that they have to do to close up shop (and it is a great deal) and **apologize**--don't judge, condemn and gripe about it!”

I'm so glad I did. This place is so cute. There are several stylists here. Everyone is friendly and seem to along so well. The stylists have there regulars. I went to the place to actually talk to someone regarding the color of hair I wanted. I wanted the stylist to look at my hair, see the texture as well as discussing if the color I wanted would be possible. That's when I met Pennie! Let me tell y'all people! She's fabulous! She mixed the colors especially to what I requested. She's knowledgeable, friendly, and informative! If you're looking for a new stylist, definitely check her out! I highly recommend!”
