“Free to visit 7 days a week!! Wonderful stretch of boardwalk overlooking a cypress bog. When the water is high it is common to see alligators, otters, and lots of birds!! All from a wheelchair-accessible boardwalk high above the action below with a great view, especially for photographers. There is also a visitor center with live animals, interactive displays, gift shop, and virtual airboat tours! The public restrooms are very clean and modern. "Friends of Anahuac NWR" offers summer camps for kids, paid internships for teens, and volunteer opportunities for all. You should definitey include this location when visiting Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge to the south.”

“Loved walking out thru the swampy waters to the Bay on a beautifully kept deck and small trails to discover small wildlife. We didn't see much, but it's an ecosystem that you can sit on the benches along the way and watch out for nature to take place.”
