“John Paul Landing Park is a GREAT PARK! Its about 865 acres. The lake is going to be about 450 acres when complete. There is nice PAVED PATHS around the lake, PLAYGROUND for kids and BATHROOMS . However i don't think any boats or kayaking is allowed.”

My boyfriend scores some extra points for taking me here last week for sure.😁 It only cost $5 per person to enter and you can take as long as you want and take as many pictures as you want. If you love plants this is a great place to go. It is very relaxing. When you first get there you go in this house and pay the cashier and she will give you a map of the property. It tells you about each area of the gardens and gives a little history on it and the man who originally created the gardens, Mr Chandor.”

“Absolutely love the Graceful bamboo I purchased from Amy & Claudia. It's high quality, well cared for and I can't believe how much it's grown in just 3 weeks! They were very patient and met with me several times answering my many questions and helping me to pick the right bamboo for my privacy fence. I choose the 15 gallon size to quickly fill in my neighbor's view of my patio. It's already provided some privacy and I can't wait till next year when it fills in! Plenty of water is the key!”

“My husband and I just got home from an enjoyable nights stay at Malaquite Campground. When you want to camp at the beach but not directly on the beach, it’s the perfect spot. It’s a short walk to the beach, the wind and waves are relaxing, stargazing was awesome and the sunrise today was amazing! Our camp host, Karen Thomas, was the best. She was very welcoming and helpful and she keeps a good eye on the campground. The bathrooms and the entire place was very clean. I have no complaints. Can’t wait to return.”

“Hang in there! Guided hikes for Bright Leaf will be opening in the future, but I’m not sure when. I do know that the preserve is (newly) now being managed by the Wildlife Conservation division of Austin Water, and they are working to open back up the guided hikes of this gem.”
