“Beautiful travel system and hiking. We took one of the side paths and followed it down to the river. We saw several others walking the trail, but not bikes. I would rate this trail an easy start, while having moderate to difficult spots. The bridge seems very dated and one board has fallen through.”

“They just reopened for day camp. My girls both loved all of the activities and had a great time. The pool is closed this summer, they are hoping to have it open next summer. We brought cooling towels and water bottles with misters and they were ok. The counselors have ice water to refill for them. Drop off and pick up was very easy, no lines.”

“This course is really nice. It has lots of isolation, and I had the course to myself at around 8am. Beware of holes 5 and 17. A bad throw and you could be fishing for your disc. Also, hole 7 was difficult to even find a good path for. All this said, this is a great neighborhood course, and if you live in the area it is a convenient and fun spot to play.”

“Park is lovely. Well kept grounds. Beautiful area to walk the trail. Has a frisbee golf course, dog park, sports fields, pavilions.”

“Rosebud is located in a very nice, older, very quiet residential community. Straight out of the mid 1950's. Surrounded by mature trees on 3 sides, well maintained, with playing field, basketball court, nicely equipped children's play area, and several covered areas with covered picnic areas with cooking grills, and a paved walking/running track around the perimeter. Felt very comforting being there, just watching the world go by. The 2 major drawbacks were there are no restroom facilities and the only parking is curbside along Rosebud Lane. It's my understanding that a covered family pavilion that would accommodate groups up to 100 people and restroom facilities is in the planing stages. Might make for a great place for oné of those old time family reunions. - Driver Jeff”

“I don't like the cement divider in the middle of the ramp. I wish they would have better rubber cushioning around their dock for boat protection. They also need to remove big huge Boulders right next to the pier because you can't pull your boat in unless you want a hole in the bottom. Otherwise it was nice to have the amenities of a washroom. The parking lot is rather small as well. However, it is the only other free boat launch in the nearby vicinity other than the Bass Pro Drive which is totally overcrowded and almost inaccessible on the weekend. So thank you so much to Terry Park recreation department for providing this for the Public's use. Appreciate it.”

“Excellent park with well defined trails. There are some steep spots and the trails are not paved so exercise the appropriate caution. There are several good views of the lake on the northern trail. We didn’t do the southern trail on this visit. Parking is good but not huge. The north trail was a good mix of shade and sun, not sure about the others. Lots of fossils visible in the upper limestone.”

“This is an awesome little park. My kids love it because it has a catch and release pound to fish in. A walking path, a playground to play on and best of all a small splash park. We started out fishing and catching some little bluegill. The kids went and played on the playground and once they started getting hot it was straight to the splash park. It was a great day spent with my boys.”

“Rained yesterday so the waterfall is flowing nicely. As you follow the trail downstream, you will find numerous spots on the creek to relax. Visiting after a recent rain is recommended - but wear hiking shoes because the trail can get muddy. Overall this is an Austin gem, definitely recommend!”

“This park is great. My daughter loves it. Cool castle or fort structure. The overall park mixed with baseball diamonds is great. Good walking area too. Has good shade and a nice duck pond too with mutant ducks. Just kidding.”

“Amazing park. There are three different trails and a huge lake. Summer walk would be amazing. Some trails are naturally formed and loved the way they maintained. They have enough parking. Get your own water as there stations are closed for winter or pandemic. Overall this is one wonderful park to have a picnic with family / have a nice hike.”

“I visited in early May to attempt to view the Golden-cheeked warbler and Black-capped Vireo. The Headquarters location with the post Oak trail, Pollinator path trail are not available and there is a bird blind I was hoping to visit. I did hike all the other trails at the other locations, which are very nice, over two days with the Doeskin Ranch location being the largest. I was able to see Painted Buntings and other birds and after two days of hiking I stopped at the Shin Oak Observation Deck which doesn't have paths but a very nice deck to sit and look for birds. At this locations I was able to see the Black-capped Vireo (I have included two poor pictures and hope to capture better pictures on my next visit). I wish more of the land was accessible for hiking but I understand they need to restrict access to help the birds. It was to late in the season to see the Golden-cheeked Warbler and will be coming back next year in mid-March to mid April to see if I am able to see this bird. Take binoculars!”

“I only walked paved paths, and the changes in elevation and length of the path combined for good exercise. I captured a great view from a lookout and passed multiple fields of flowering plants. This preserve is beautiful and well maintained. I'd like to return to walk the nature paths sometime. Jogging or biking here are also good ideas for those that do either or both. EDIT: I have been here many times since it's the closest of my favorite nature preserves, but I don't love this place anymore and haven't for a while, so I'm rating it 4 stars. My previous paragraph still holds true. The nature paths are nice and would be more enjoyable if the waterways running through the park were high, but nature is to blame for that. There are 3 other nature preserves that I consider significantly more beautiful and challenging in the metro: 1 in southern Dallas and 2 in northwest Fort Worth. Arbor Hills is good in its own right, and it'd be my top recommendation to those that don't want to travel to south Dallas or northwest Fort Worth for a scenic or moderately challenging walk.”

“Clean and decently spaced. The huge speed bumps are an annoyance and not necessary as it is a small area. We even filled our propane on sight. We didn't use the pool or bath facilities. TERRIBLE mosquitoes.”

“Very nice park for walking and jogging. We actually found some off road trails for our mountain bikes on the other side of the highway. The trails are a bit narrow, but fun.”

“Love the park and distances from roads. The pavilion is a quaint gazebo shape. Bathrooms are usually clean-ish but the water fountains mid park rarely work. The playground is nicely shaded and the park is directly adjacent to a school with some good play equipment (not fenced off though) but if you're around right after school be prepared to share or be asked to leave. Lots of space for soccer or football and a few backstops with quality bleachers (no score boards or back fences). Has some walking trails close by and further out in the park plus a sidewalk that goes to the nearby pond and stream that flank the elementary school. Parking is also shared with the school and neighborhood and is small. It can get quite packed and difficult to navigate with kids running nearby. Overall fun and always meet someone willing to play with the kiddos too!”

“Great, clean park with a fun playground, trails, space to run around on the grass. We go here often to use the covered patio with tables and chairs for picnics. There are even restrooms. Really nice park!”

“One of the few Texas shaped swimming pools in the world. This historic (50 year old) pool is listed on the National Registry of Historic places and is a gem. Great place to take a day trip and chill by the pool. Lifeguards on duty. They also rent it out for parties. Birthday parties are a huge success here. You can also catch “Elizabeth Swims” the YouTube star swimming here sometimes.”
