“The 1st time I came in here was 9 years ago. The owner who sadly passed was Jerry Sr. So, happy to see that his son Jerry Jr and Olga his wife are now running the restaurant. Their son Anthony runs the kitchen. This family is kind and passionate about their restaurant. No wonder why each employee seems to care about the restaurant. The food is definitely something to write about as well. The family is great but, the food is phenomenal. One of the first things I noticed is that a lot of locals were eating there. Great sign of a great restaurant. Then the restaurant was supper clean. Another great sign even though they are short staffed. The shrimp tacos and the jumbo margarita w/Dos Equis in it. They were delicious!!!!! I could have drank a pitcher of margaritas. And eaten more then 3 tacos. Just saying. The food and service are awesome. Having locals come and eat at your restaurant is a strong indicator that the food is authentic and good. More tourists need to find this hidden gem in my opinion. Plus, my bartender was a local surgery tech who was working 2 jobs. I admire her hard work and dedication not only to the restaurant but, her family as well. It's great to see this beautiful town of San Antonio support a legendary restaurant. Will be back and definitely will always promote it. Huge fan.”

“We were on vacation from NOLA and went to the farmers market, we saw their tint and thought they looked nice so we wanted to support a small business. We got one sweet and salty cookie not thinking too much of it. This was probably the best cookie we’ve ever had. We found their location in Richardson and went to get 1/2 dozen. “For a chain bbq Soulman's is very good. They use Nolan Ryan Angus Beef and it definitely has a more elevated flavor than a Dickey's or Spring Creek. Their sides are always good and the service is friendly. Prices are also reasonable. For brisket I think Soulman''s is the best chain bbq out there.”

It is extremely unassuming, even walking in, the restaurant ambience is just kinda bland and doesn't stand out at all. I'd hate to see this place go because they didn't draw people in, specially since their food is very good! We had the pollo con tajadas and several of the pupusas. The pupusas were as good as I've ever had and the chicken with plantains was a delicious take on a sorta garbage plate but Salvadorian, highly recommend it. The service here is nice, very attentive wait staff, all smiles and very polite, gave me a chance to practice my Spanish. All in all, this place needs a bit of a better ambience, but the food is on point, can't wait to go back!”

“Considering the dearth of restaurant options in Brownfield, this is easily 5 stars. Friendly service, clean environment, and tasty food. It's the first Japanese restaurant I've been to with no chopsticks on the tables, and I wasn't given a knife to cut the fish either. Too much rice, not enough vegetables. So they'd get less than 5 stars in a more competitive market. But given the location, good food at a reasonable price with friendly service makes it easily 5 stars.”
