“Franklin Glen Park is very nice! At first you will see.the scoccer field but behind it is a trail that let's you roam under a nice forest with streams, wood Bridges and it is common to see several deers eating peacefully in the bush. I just love it. The trail ok is connected to several ones in the Franklin Glen community I think 9.1 miles of trails.”

“A railroad track runs through this park and it runs along the Occoquan River. Great place to take your dog. The trail is hilly in places. Very few people on the trail. Limited parking on the Yates side. There is an adventure camp for kids here. On most weekdays there will be groups of 5th graders at various points in the adventure camp. But the kids dont go into the trail to my knowledge. So dont be concerned about being disturbed on your run/walk/jog. There is a spot you can launch boats from. There are also horse trails. There is winery just outside the park entrance on the Yates side.”

“I've been hiking here for decades, even did a few Eagle Scout projects here. I love the area. The management has changed, but I haven't noticed much of a difference in access to the trails. It's a great place in all seasons and weather.”

“The baseball field is a little unkempt, but the grass is trash-free and fully grown in as well as not too long. The volleyball court is also set to the correct height and has lines already down! No more bringing your own lines (although the court is bigger than regulation). Lastly, the half basketball court hoop is taller than regulation by about 4-6 inches. Otherwise, park is in great shape.”

“Entrances are a little hard to find, but the trail is almost shockingly nice for a park that's buried in Fairfax suburbia.”

“Great haunted trail. Scares galore. It is a yon of work for one night of terror. Watch out for the bunny man.”

“It is cool after the rains along the Accotink Cross-County Trail, the flooding is still present though (May 17, 2018). The park caretakers have done a great job of clearing the trail for walkers, bike riders, and joggers. Trees that fell during the bad winds storm a couple of months ago were cut and moved off the trail as were a lot of branches. Sections of the trail between Pickett Road, across Barkley Road, and to Prosperity Road are paved whereas some sections are gravel. Be careful where some of the paved parts are crumbling from water washing away at them. Stay stay on your feet but remember to listen and look around you. There are all sorts of flora and fauna to capture your attention.”

“Along the Bull Run Occoquan Trail is a great hike. Lots of terrain and occasional views of the reservoir. Consider dropping off a car further upstream and make it a one-way hike. Note that the gate may not be open until 10 AM. A closed gate means an extra half mile walk to the trailhead. For loop hikes, go further upstream to Hemlock Overlook Park.”

“Easy access, multiple courts or fields. Lacks enough seating arrangements and wish there were toilets and drinking water. Or probably there but couldn't see any.”

“What a great place with tons of paved and not paved trails. You can hear the birds, walk along the stream, admire some architecture and enjoy a nice breezy afternoon. I parked over Soapstone Dr. and jump on the trail from there. Highly recommended.”
