“Kay School is a lovely school with passionate, nurturing teachers. I recommend Kay School for parents who are looking for a neighborhood school environment, and for those who want their children to play outside! Small classroom sizes are ideal for this age group. Parent- teacher communication is also excellent!”

“I am a former student of Navy, and all in all, it was a good experience, the learning environment was good, you were challenged well, and most of the teachers were very relaxed, chilled, and funny (particularly my fourth and sixth grade teacher; shoutouts to him). However, like any other school it had its problems. I don’t think some of the teachers confronted bullying as well as they should have. Also, there are some very partial teachers one in particular ( the PE teacher who didn’t even know my name despite me being in his class for most of my years and always yells at boys ). Although, despite the complaints, Navy is a good school and I would definitely recommend it to any parents looking for a school.”

“My son attended Winwood on a daily basis from age 2 to age 8. Though we are no longer daily customers, we still regularly use WW for occasional child care during school holidays, summer break, and those dreaded snow days - even if Fairfax county schools are closed, the odds are good that Winwood is still open, which is incredibly helpful to busy working parents. I often recommend Winwood to friends and neighbors looking for childcare. The Winwood team is made up of an outstanding group of teachers, Director, and Assistant Director. They work together to provide a great experience for parents and children. The curriculum for each grade is well thought out and filled with fun and educational experiences. In particular, the Junior K program is a very special experience. It is essentially a small private kindergarten year for kids who have fall and winter birthdays, and just miss the school cut off. The teacher for this room provides the kids with interactive and fun activities to challenge and engage the kids in learning. My son learned so much and was incredibly prepared to start school. Even now he has many friends from Winwood and loves to go back there whenever his real school is closed.”

“My daughters and niece went on a trail ride with Presley as a guide, she was awesome! The horses they rode were Arrow, Chester and Scooby. They were also awesome! The staff are very friendly and easy to deal with, and we highly recommend this stable.”

“I just did a show at this school and was thrilled with how the teacher in the classroom was interacting with the kids. She was wonderful, funny, interesting and even did a magic trick before I started my show. As a former teacher, it's terrific to see such a gem in the classroom. I also thought the director was terrific and engaging as well. Great school, for sure.”

“Overall, we were generally pleased with my son's two years there. Children behave very well overall. Only one bad employee ( admin assistant) who was fairly incompetent, often rude, and would say inappropriate things in front of the children. I have to assume they kept her because they were not paying her much. However, this person no longer works there! My wife and I agree that the Montessori method is best suited to naturally intelligent and intellectually curious children with a broad range of interests (which is rare). They let the kids focus more on areas they enjoy, which can be good. My son's math and geography skills were well above grade level when he transitioned to public elementary school. However, his reading was below grade level and it took a lot of painful work to get him up to performing at grade level. We would definitely recommend this school for pre-K, but save your money and put your kid in your local public elementary school starting in Kindergarten.”

“Sparkles Daycare in Fairfax is truly the best place to have my son. He is constantly learning new things and progressing so fast. Hes the youngest in his class and so smart and I give the teachers there so much credit. Sparkles makes sure their children are all cared for and supported. I would never trust anyone else with my sons care and life. He loves Sparkles and all his friends so much and I can’t imagine him being anywhere else. We’re extremely happy!”

“We are so happy here. I transferred my daughter from another local preschool and she is thriving. I feel they've done a great job of challenging her without overwhelming her. The staff and other families are very warm and approachable. We found that it is considerably less expensive than other preschools in the area... particularly when you factor in that there aren't any additional charges for activities. And they get to ride horses every week! We are really looking forward to sending our son here next year - and absolutely recommending it to all of our friends with preschool age children.”

“UPDATE - 11/1/2018 - Since my original posting, my youngest daughter has started kindergarten in the public schools systems. Today I was told that her 1st quarter standardized test scores ranged in the late kindergarten and 1st grade ranges. The word analysis benchmark was 61 and she scored 183, in phonics she "maxed out" of the kindergarten level, and her internet reading test she scored above average in her group. Because my youngest daughter attended KinderCare full-time since she was only several weeks old, all the way through their kindergarten prep program, I presumed she was well-prepared. However, I was smiles ear-to-ear to see these test results, in addition to hearing from her teacher how well she is doing socially as well. It's only appropriate that I extend a lot of credit and appreciation to the Lee Highway KinderCare team in Fairfax for all of their support and care. over the past 5+ years. FIRST POST - Both of my children have been attending the Lee Highway KinderCare from infant care to school-age. They look forward to going every day and love to be with their friends and teachers. The school is clean and fosters great parent relations (your child will get invited to a lot of birthdays parties). The curriculum has also worked very well. After 5 years at KinderCare, my oldest child is excelling in the public school system now and always reports above average for her grade. My youngest is now in KinderCare's kindergarten curriculum and absolutely loves to talk about her class and her teacher every day after school.”
