“If you're looking for a local trainer, or even a remote one, you can stop now, you found "a good one". A great one depending on your attitude. The aggressive name made me worry I was about to step waaaay out of my element and drown in the testosterone but a good trainer doesn't only have one speed. "Well I'm not a burly grrr kind of guy"- neither was I, set a goal and he'll get you there, whatever it may be. I was 280lbs, recovering from surgery and the gym and I were no longer on speaking terms for quite some time regardless. I couldn't handle a trainer hammering me at what I felt was my lowest point ever, but at the same time, allowing the same excuses that work on me to work on my TRAINER would not have made us any progress. James knew when to push me when I was making excuses, and he let up when i was at my limit- he knew when I had more in me than I was trying to give better than i knew myself. Most people think physical training is about enduring pain and exhausting yourself to no end, it's not. It's about getting honest with yourself and what's REALLY best for you. I was making excuses to myself and they were working. James knows the difference between a reason and excuse and didn't accept them, and introducing him into this conversation has made all the difference. I wouldn't recommend him to just literally every single one of my buddies (if he can find the time)- I'd recommend him to my mother. Best of luck on your journey, you can do it!”
