Rocky Mount BBQ

I have eaten Rocky Mount BBQ from the time I was little, it has always been good homemade southern food! Today I ordered the fried fish sandwich and wow it is so tasty! Its very moist, cooked to a nice golden color, and the flavor of the fish is awesome especially since it’s flounder! I had an order of the crinkle cut fries and they are cooked perfectly as well, not too soft and not to crispy, JUST RIGHT! I recommend all the food, especially the chopped bbq because I love vinegar, but when I want something different from a bbq place the fish sandwich is my go to!

Rocky Mount BBQ has been a go-to restaurant for decades! Always expect great service, low prices, and good food. Great hushpuppies and BBQ! North Carolina style. Check out the deviled eggs (made to order) and lots of country style veggies. YUM!!!

Was craving BBQ, specifically ribs, so I ordered from Door Dash due to doing yard work. By the time it was delivered I was famished so I was excited to dig in. First the spare ribs were delicious, the red sauce had a bit to much ketchup for my liking but the meat was tender and not dry. The pulled pork was to be expected, moist and didn't mind that it was sauceless because I don't like a lot of sauce anyway. The sweet tea was perfect, greens, chopped slaw and corn pudding were on point. However, the mac n cheese was pretty bland and the banana pudding had a lot of liquid, the bananas were hard, brown and the whole thing was a soggy mess. Not sure if it was frozen prior and thawed but it wasn't the best. Hopefully today was just an off day and it's good the rest.

These ribs are different from all others I’ve eaten & reviewed (in every way but not in a bad way!).These are spare ribs and are cooked differently from the others I’ve reviewed . The server explained that these are first boiled in their spices and seasonings. Then they are put in the oven with the sauce. I requested sauce on the side. These are much larger than the baby backs. These were well seasoned and VERY tender. Due to their size, they were also very filling. The collard greens were the ABSOLUTE BEST. I had some the other day in a different restaurant that I THOUGHT were the best but these collards are even better than those!!!! In fact, they’re better than ANY I’ve had in this area inclusive of all of the soul food restaurants I’ve tried! The hush puppies were hot and fresh. The bottle of SEASONED vinegar they put on my table was exceptionally good. The sweet potato casserole was good too. The banana pudding was fair but neatly made.
The restaurant and bathroom were SUPER clean and very well maintained. The staff is extremely polite, nice, helpful and clean! All servers PROPERLY wore their masks. THANK YOU Rocky Mount BBQ for excellent service and a good lunch.
