(December 12, 2018, 7:03 am)This is a fun place to visit and a favorite camping spot of ours within a short driving distance of Fredericksburg. The camp grounds are clean and wooded. In the summer there is a beach and pool for swimming. In my opinion the best part of the park is Fossil Beach and the hike thereto. Located on the banks of the Potomac, the beach is a great place to look (and often find) fossilized shark teeth. The hike to the beach is a little under a mile in length and provides good bird watching opportunities in the spring.

(August 21, 2018, 8:31 pm)my wife and I decided to go to westmorlan state park for our three year anniversary. we have been many times on day trips and loved sifting for sharks teeth and walking the trails. we stayed for three days and were even more impressed by personnel and and ease of layout of site with great respect for the grounds. all and all an amazing place to go. highly recommended for all ages

(July 16, 2018, 11:15 pm)Nice park with some nice cabins. We stayed in one of the "studio" (really a bedroom w/fireplace, plus kitchen) cabins and it was great.
There's a nice set of walking trails. I'd particular recommend making the short (about .5 mile) walk down to Fossil Beach. It's small, but has a great prehistoric vibe with the cliffs at both ends. -

(July 8, 2018, 6:01 pm)What a wonderful experience‼️ My 1st time here will not be my last‼️ My Sister-in-law made the reservations, she said the booking, of 2 tent lots, was SO easy‼️ There are 3 camp areas (camps A,B,& C-we were in B), on either side of the park contains many cabins, There are 2, if not more, entrances to the Beach. We were in the one by the pool entrance. So many parking spots to be had. Maybe because it was Sunday and the campground was 85% empty ????????‼️ Easy to walk ANYWHERE. So ???? the showers/bathroom building, it was so close to our campsites, perfect when you have kids. Although you are surrounded by other campers, there is such harmony. Come by yourself , bring friends & family, whichever you choose, will be an awesome experience for YOU‼️‼️????
