“After a hospital stay I have elected to have chemotherapy to address my cancer issues. As a prelude to the chemo treatments all patients are required to take a brief (2+ hours) course introducing us to the facts and fiction of chemo and what we should expect. The information was clear and very helpful and the instructor was very knowledgeable and an excellent communicator. I was introduced to the billing representative who works closely with both me and my insurance company. In addition I spent time with my assigned "Navigator" who gave me printed instructions and a schedule to ensure that I completely understand what is going to happen. While I would prefer not to have cancer, the knowledge and clarity of the VCS staff has made beating this cancer something that I embrace, rather than fear, and has made me much more hopeful for the future.
