“Blake Lane Park consists of a soccer field, a dog park and a large grassy area. It is not developed like many of the other parks in northern Virginia. It is a convenient location to enjoy some green space and perhaps fly your kite or bring the dog to the dog park. Part of the park is actually under consideration for an elementary school location and there is current on going discussion as to if it will actually remain a park. The only reason I give it only four stars is because most of the other parks are way more developed and Blake Lane offers only a bit over a green space.”

“In 2008, I graduated from Landstown High School those were the best times of my life and I learned so much from the faculty and staff there. I also love the fact that the high school that I still love is under the supervision of one the best Principal's. Dr.Matney was my the principal of my old middle school and I'm sure he will make great Principal of Landstown.”

“This is part of Holiday Barn which is a pet resort. It's a very large enclosed area where the staff can bring your dogs out to get some exercise and play. We've used Holiday Barn in the past, thought they did a fantastic job with our dog Lucy. She has a little bit of anxiety and they spent some extra time playing with her in the park. It's a good size play area.”

“I absolutely LOVE Dr. Gibson-Frasier!!! She explains things well, gives her opinion and works with you as a parent. She also answers your questions well and doesn't make you feel silly for asking them. I tried some closer to home but for now, driving the hour and a half to take my kids to her is my decision. Wouldn't trade her.”

“At this arch you will find a "sacred" fire that burns almost indefinitely and representing it's wealth of historical importance. Entrance upon this stone foundation will surely separate the tourist from the general surrounding of Downtown Newport into a lavishly kept and large open ended park on the way to an outlook over the waters and with a clear view of the Naval carriers, some Maritime patrol on occasion and the company of families, friends and others traveling the walk for sightseeing, fitness or particularly in my case, meditation, a great meditation spot listening to the waters flows and the light hum as evidence of human engineering in the distance that creates an ambient sound and the area is very quiet on Sundays. Tourists may fish at the furthest left end of the park and will find law enforcement monitoring the area briefly for safety & security. A rather nice looking Huntington Ingalls corporate building is low key set aside from the park on the way in. On every 4th of July this park comes to life even more with concessions, a stage for music performances, huge fireworks displays, a local patriotic oldstyle band at the fiery monument, glow sticks and super packed full of people. This is a place to creates your memories with the people you love, your family and your friends. Enjoy it's simplicity, thank me later but most importantly, thank yourselves for embracing the simplicity and historical importance of the monument and Victory Landing Park. Stay for the sunset and take a moment to reset before your departure it's a beautiful sight.”

“Nice short community trail that connects several neighborhoods. Really clean. Good job to the visitors and FCPA for its upkeep. It's made of a few trails that offer some hills, flat terrain. A bit of everything. Even coyotes, apparently. We didn't see any, but lots of warning sign to be on the lookout for them. There's a cool search and find holiday game for the kids that's a plus!”

“Interesting park, there is one main trail that rings the entire grounds. There's also a lot of criss-crossing trails. Generally easy to hike for the average hiker. If your bike riding some spots will take all of your skill sets to get across. Great place to go bird watching. Sadly there is no map of the trails at either entrance.”

“We tried to go here today. 11:00 am 77 degrees sunny day. We read the reviews so we lathered up big time with bug sprays but we got maybe fifty feet in and we were completely covered in mosquitos, big biting painful mosquitos. The grass was super nicely mowed but it just was too much for us. We will come back in the winter and give it another try, hopefully after most of the bugs have died for the year. PS if you use WAZE to get here beware it tries to take you straight onto a farmer’s home/property. Turn left before the road turns to more of a grassy driveway. There’s a big brown state parks sign down the road on the left that should have told us WAZE was wrong but we were following it blindly.”

They shared with me that the work they did was above and beyond they had experienced in the past and had a first class experience. Thank you Kirk Team for making me look good and providing an amazing experience!”

“Love this campground! If you are in a tent, the closer to the water, the better. Otherwise, you can hear the noise from the road. We have stayed in 169 and 186, loved them both. There was shade, a lot of room for the kids to run around and play in the sand. The picture is from site 186.”
