You can swim, walk your dog, barbecue, play in the sand, walk along the lake, and much more. “Joan is a very experienced and patient teacher. Joan sees everything I do, and doesn't miss a leg or hand position, but most importantly, is able to talk me into the correct position and explain why that position is important. I am amazed at her patience when my heel moves to high *again* or I grab the wrong bridle. In addition to her extensive experience, her years of riding, I would describe her patience as one of her best qualities as a teacher. She is able to explain every difficult concept of riding in a way that makes it feel achievable. She makes it easy to come into the ring every week, even when riding is hard. She fosters a camaraderie among the riders at her barn, and encourages us to learn about the individual horses and sharpen our horse sense. I have had other instructors, but Joan's extensive knowledge in the field, patience as a teacher, and sense of community have made my time riding at Pond View Stables the very best! I am a better and safer rider and know more about horses than ever. Thanks Joan!”

“This is a fun place to visit and a favorite camping spot of ours within a short driving distance of Fredericksburg. The camp grounds are clean and wooded. In the summer there is a beach and pool for swimming. In my opinion the best part of the park is Fossil Beach and the hike thereto. Located on the banks of the Potomac, the beach is a great place to look (and often find) fossilized shark teeth. The hike to the beach is a little under a mile in length and provides good bird watching opportunities in the spring.”

“Needed a 4:15am pickup ride to Dulles for myself, wife and 3mos old baby. The driver had their luxury SUV backed into our driveway by 4:00am and ready to assist with our luggage and baby gear. The 1hr15m drive was as smooth and pianless as it could be. Very impressed with the professionalism of service and courteous driver who had a very pleasant and calming demeanor. All this and it was $50 less than other services that I had contacted. We'll be using their services again most definitely.”

“Easy to get to, well organized tubing operation. Vests could be better cared for. Tubes and transportation to the river are fine. A downside is the many drunk people (despite the waiver saying alcohol is not allowed on the river, although their antics on the river do provide entertainment as you float along. Website is not always updated with the latest weather/river conditions, so you may not be able to tube where you want when you get there.”
