(February 7, 2023, 12:09 am)Finding a school for my pre-k aged firstborn was an intimidating endeavor. Entrusting a stranger with my impressionable tot, had me (understandably?) nervous, skeptical, over-protective and hesitant. Among a small handful of other candidates: enter Raleigh Wilson, founder and head teacher of Tolt Montessori. On paper he had decades of firsthand experience as an educator (and parent) and in person he proved confident, capable and encouraging. Without a doubt we knew we had found the right fit for our kid. The school has been designed with a well rounded curriculum in the classic Montessori style. My child is offered an array of thought provoking and tactile works that promote both core level learning and fundamental social skills. The classroom is cozy and adorably appointed, and the backyard offers a spacious fresh air reprieve. They take exploratory nature walks, appreciate music, and indulge in all the messy arts & crafts I don’t really want to do at home. Their day is full of all the good stuff! Our 4 year old returns content, exuberant, and often tuckered out. That gives me a great feeling too. I’ll be enrolling my littler kid as soon as I can. May this review help anyone on the fence about where to send their children for early education!
