“We had an amazing tasting tour yesterday with Don! He is extremely knowledgeable about wine and helped me many times to decide what to taste. I was the odd one out in my group tasting mostly reds and he made sure to go over with both the white wine drinkers and I what we would most enjoy. “As I was walking along the east side of Rainier Ave , Columbia City Ale House looked inviting......and a moment later I was sipping an IPA. My burger and side of potato salad came soon after. Service was very good. The food was great. And I got to meet Emily: the bartender, waitperson, and new owner! She said when the previous owner wanted to close the doors forever, she decided to buy it to keep it going. Her 7 years work experience there is a major plus. Full bar, pub fare, at least one veggie option, a good selection of draft beer with rotating taps.”

“I don’t claim to be an authority on sushi but I’ve had a lot all over the US and Europe and Nishino stands out over every other place I’ve ever been (I’ve been here about a half dozen times so it’s not just one lucky day). They are extremely creative with their preparations, recipes and presentations. Highly recommended is the Chef’s choice tasting menu. You have to order at least a day in advance and the chef decides on the dishes based on the best seafood available that day.”

Cool location, good beer selection, good quality food, good service, ridiculously overpriced for the portion size. Edited info: We had the $17 burger (w cheese and side salad) and $17 nachos (guac incl) which we shared. Both seemed very small for that price point. All four of us thought the same. I eat out 4-5 times per week so feel like I have a decent idea of value and comps in the Seattle area. Just my my humble opinion and a recommendation to consider increasing serving sizes. I wish the owners luck in their new restaurant and I hope to make another visit to give them another chance.”
