“Our two special-needs cats are family, and at this point, Dr. Shahi feels more like a family doctor to us than some of the pediatricians we've had in the valley. I am impressed that he took no time to remember not only their names (in addition to ours), but also their complex case histories, in detail. I've never been put on hold when calling him, we've never had to sit in the waiting room (the appointments are incredibly prompt), we've always gotten quick help in time of crises, and we've received quick calls about test results, even on early mornings and weekends. Unlike other vets in the past, he has never tried to force us into unnecessary tests and treatments that add on expenses and just traumatize the animals and the humans. His rational approach tends to be to start with what is needed given what we know about the situation at hand, explaining everything in detail, different possibilities, and letting us make the decisions that we are comfortable with, and then take it from there. Having been dragged through the other kind of exploitative hell before, I so appreciate this kind of respect and consideration! It's a small clinic that doesn't have super fancy technological capacity (e.g. abdominal ultrasounds), but he will tell you at what point he needs to send you to a different place for more sophisticated exams and treatments.”

Cost was given to us up front and was reasonable for the treatment received. Wait times were low. Communications post appointment have been prompt and frequent. The warmth and friendliness of staff was wonderful and they seemed genuinely interested in my fur baby’s quality of life and overall health.”

“I had to have total knee replacement and 6 weeks later total hip replacement. I am 67 year old woman who is overweight. He looked at my BMI instead of my weight. I had to lose weight and I did, but one doctor said I had to be at a certain weight. The last 10 pounds were holding me up. I found Dr. Scott and he worked with my BMI. He is nice and explains things clearly. I felt and still feel that he cared about helping me which he did extremely well and professionally. Both operations were successful. “My Mom, Sylvia, was at Bothell Way Lodge for about 4 months after breaking her hip prior to her passing. I want to say that she received exceptional care from the owners, Felix and Carmen, and their staff. They all took very special attention to Mom, took time to get to know her and our family. Their adult family home feels like home. It is clean, organized, with home cooked meals but it is also very professional. The rooms are all cozy and the front and back yards are nice. They decorate for holidays, have desserts for all the residents to enjoy with special orders for Mom all the time. We couldn't have asked for a better place for Mom to get the care she needed.
