Best thing to ever happen to me, the staff are amazing and the food is better then what I eat at home. Ive been here three times and every time things have gotten better. I would consider most of the staff friends. I wish I had the words for this place but I dont. I do wish they had more staff available each shift and med providers and counselors at location. Allowing patients more social interaction. The unit is very boring at times but it has all the love you could ask for. Now dont get me wrong sometimes staff can be gruff at first but they are only like that cuz they care so much about the clients. Food is available 24/7 their are hot showers with shampoo and conditioner. They serve coffee tea hot chocolate water and juice all day. They also try to take clients on nature walks. This place was designed to help people who feel like they have nothing left to live for and to provide hope and support and it does all of that. Three times I could have died if it weren't for CTF.

Ok, so basically everyone who posted a poor review is smoked out and isn't even reviewing the treatment center itself rather than KMH (Kitsap Mental Health) as a whole. They have nothing to do with the psychiatric evaluations, which is a KMH thing. Again, having children sent out of state is NOT in the hands of a treatment center. I mean get real. And the chemical dependency counselors are not here to be your therapist. They are CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY COUNSELORS. Not your CBT therapist.

So since i got that out of the way, let me discuss how great this place is. The counselors, the staff, even the people who serve food, are the most dedicated and caring people ive ever had the pleasure of working with in a treatment facility. They do all they can to accommodate you and will move mountains to get things done that will help towards your recovery. It is a medicaid funded program for those who are low income, but do not treat you the way KRC does or any other state funded program would. There are 3 pods with 5 beds in each. 2 men, 1 woman. The group itself never really has gotten past 12 people total. Its a 30 day, intense dual diagnosis program. And when i say intense, i say it in the terms of how its all inclusive and aimed at treating both disorders (mental and substance) at the same time. The days are filled in with groups and meetings. They take the primary three approaches to fixing people with dual diagnoses; mental(therapy, group meetings, some psychiatry),substance abuse( AA, NA, Celebrate recovery) and my favorite Meditation and Mindfulness groups. Its a relatively new facility and yes the staff are newer, but they are dedicated.

Yes there are a few kinks, but they are very small. Like, for instance, the tv and movie watching. Some staff are super cool, and one of the head honchos (Mosen) is a total fascist. Which, btw for those of you who will be here after our group, we are working out the kinks. Its not just their job to get things right. Its our job, as clients, to make sure our needs get met as well as insuring that future clients get the same or even better treatment. A

Also, the food is great for a treatment center. 3 meals a day and snack twice, once after lunch and once before bed at 8pm. Fruit and juice/water is always available.

And the most important and, in my experience, best thing they did for me was far beyond the line of duty for these people. Paige, one of the CDP counselors and staff, was a woman I contacted while i was high and paranoid. She spoke to me on the phone, motivated me, walked me through the steps on what i needed to do to get in there, and then checked in with me periodically throughout the day to make sure i made it where i needed to be. Wonderful woman and i hope you all have the pleasure of meeting here someday.

Ok well I hope i helped, again, if you want to go anywhere, THIS is the spot.

***Also this review is for PACIFIC HOPE AND RECOVERY. I didnt realize they are making us review KMH as a whole. Sorry for the confusion

And shout out to the staff: Paige, Kira, Seaward, Big Mike, Kevin, and Josh. 6 best staff
