“Oh my... such a surprise to walk this relatively small park. No views of water. Yet the forest is magnificent; full of huge trees and ferns galore. Saw two deer and no non-native plants. NOW, as you exit the SW corner.... Go only a few dozen steps and look for a trail opening across the street... Another trail!!! It is also wooded with a tiny creek and this trail goes and goes and goes....”

“They are one of my favorite public parks, they have covered picnic areas for events, waterfront access, boat launch, bathrooms cleaned daily, a play area for children ranging in age so you bring little ones and active rowdy early teens, outlet plugs, ballfield, sidewalks that loop around almost entire park for those that like to walk, jog, or push little one in stroller, dog friendly(no off leash, leash law enforced but not strictly if dogs is well minded, "trained" and "responds well and does as instructed, and minds to himself unless invited, you can walk off leash and not worry.. people go fishing, have events, parties, kick back of the big lush green grass field, it's comfortable, easy going, and lots to do.. and they have been super tolerant and understanding my vehicle with problems and not easily mobile they have let me stay a night or 2 otherwise park closes at dusk.. I think I covered most of everything.. that comes to mind..”

“Took my family including twin 2.5 year Olds and an almost 5 year old. Lots of fun fairly easy hike, took us about 1.5 hours. FYI the bathroom is behind Pru's house! We will certainly be back, I love how well maintained and marked the trails are as well!”

“This is a " 1 of a kind " walk with beautiful trails and plenty of picture perfect moments. I strongly encourage you to visit! It's a little out of the way, but that's what makes it better than most state parks. Few people and very clean!”

“What an amazing find. This park is incredible. They have approximately 40 full hook up RV camping spots that cost $40 a night. One of the other nice things is that the campground area has 2 horseshoe pits and even horseshoes for guests to use, no need to bring your own! Bathrooms, picnic tables, and awesome Puget Sound views with plenty of beach access. For video of the park go to YouTube channel "Explore Your World Today".”

“Howe dog park is amazing! Most folks watch their dogs and pick up the poo but of course there are a few that don’t do either. Another owner also in the off leash area allowed his dog to attack others. My dog would of been one of them he was able to get to us and I managed to pick him up. The dog jumped on me trying to get at my dog. The guy just laughed. Didn’t help. The park itself if beautiful, most people are wonderful and follow the park rules. Those people and their pups make the park a wonderful place to be. For those days and those times we love Howes!”

“This park is away from Poulsbo town center and seems to be popular with locals as a place to hang out. There's an off-leash dog park, a small playground for younger kids, green space to play / picnic, picnic shelter with several tables, a community garden area, adequate parking spaces (though not well marked) and a lovely view. We visit Poulsbo several times a year but it's not a park we'd make the effort to visit again, as we found others that had bigger playgrounds with more activities for the kids, so I took away one star.”

“This site of a defense station that was planned to have anti-naval vessal guns to protect the area against possible invasion in World War 2 have been converted into a beautiful state park. The water access is perfect for kayaking, the trails are great for going on a walk, with or without your dogs; and if you want to go camping this park provides you with places to do so. To enter you will need a Discover Pass or pay for a day pass to the park, camping also has a fee. The visitor station also sells water or ice creams if you didn't come prepared for when the park gets hot during the summer.”

“Enjoy fishing long lake when it's quiet. It's fun to fish, however I would never eat a fish out of this lake. Make sure if you're swimming this lake you go home and take a shower. Big Bass...”

“Fantastic access road / trail for an inland circumnavigation... Can't really get lost.. expect some medium steep slopes, and I believe it's about a three mile walk. Super views all around. Gorgeous and very large madronas, cedar and of course doug firs. It seems there's a water treatment facility because they have run a pipe to the east campground.”
