“A wonderful little park full of forest trails and lots to explore! There's a kids park and lots of rentable covered areas for get togethers. I've not seen it get too busy which is also really nice. Some trails can be pretty steep but my toddler can manage them pretty well so it's not too bad for kids and families.”

“Park is always clean and wide open on most day's. There are nice toys for kids to play on. There is a portable restroom if the restroom is closed. There is an ample covered area for a picnic. I have seen many families bring their children here for birthday parties.”

“Dorothy Bothell Park is a small but beautiful park, there is a small play area with a climbing rock, a couple of concrete animals for kids to sit on, a small swing for toddlers and and a tester totter and small bench. There is nice grass area to sit and rest, and if you choose to take a walk, Vista ridge trail is just at the edge of the park”

“My son had been begging for years to attend one of the Wolf Camps in the Tacoma/Puyallup area and I finally signed him up last summer for the Swan Creek survival camp... I am so glad I did! Not only did he have a wonderful time, I felt very safe leaving him with the staff. The camp was extremely educational and fun. He will attend every summer from now on!”

“Great park with beach access with plenty of picnic tables and covered tables. Plus there were a few trails that went around the park which was nice and leisurely. There were some steep parts though so you do need to be physically able to walk all of them. Overall would visit again.”

“This is a cute park with a beautiful/modern lighthouse to check out. I recommend having a picnic here in the grass or outside tables during sunset, or just in general. As you can see, the lighthouse is quite picturesque - it's a lovely spot to bring a romantic partner or older family member!”

“Has great views.. beautiful homes if your into that! Great sunset spot! Bathroom was a port-a-potty.. was absolutely disgusting!! I've seen some gross ones.. but this one you couldn't even enter was so bad.. bright side.. great place a mile away or so.. gas, deli, store, bar.. pool tables.. little tricky to get there, we passed it.. turn at the waist high shell sign! On the left! For those of us walking challenged.. the entrance is narrow.. so not sure how a wheelchair would fair.. it is a very steep hill to get down to the beach area.. once there not to bad, some grass, some beach.. picnic tables etc..”

“One of a kind huge awesome park! Beautiful views, sunsets and more. The golf course building has excellent food. Don't count that out or discredit. This will satisfy and fulfill your afternoon at the park. Exceeds expectations. Bathrooms clean and safe community. Appreciate respectful community and visitors.”

“Playground is toddler friendly with large sandpit and a ferry themed play area. Not a ton for our 6 year old but she still had a great time. We also appreciated the lookouts with salmon conservation info… there is a fun scavenger hunt and well kept restroom too”

“This place is a Beautiful exciting place to spend the day. Tennis courts and exercise places to workout and become physically fit. Also a wonderful place to go hiking in nature. Following the trails way back and up. Hard hikes and very soft walks. Places to stretching in the grass...”

“Went to find a trinket hid in the park. Was a lot of work but left quacker and my heart for the next to come. Quite a nice little stop, but not much on the parking. Not much to do and there is the main road right along side of the park. But it's still a great stop. No bathroom or tables, just grass and nature.”

“I love this park. I have been taking my kids to this park for a long long time. My dad also likes this park when visiting from Olympia. The only reason for four stars is you get your usually entitled gig harborite who says something smart or looks at you sideways for being on thier playground... It's a nice park tho. Should visit. Cool playground with instruments outside for kids to play, a big field, and I haven't went myself but I believe there is wooded trails for dog walks there also.”

“Everything about this park is cool. Lots of picnic tables and benches to relax on, as well as lovely grassy areas to lounge. Also, walking along the the edge of South Puget Sound is always beautiful, whether watching the boats or the evening lights or seeing our majestic Tahoma on a clear day. It's always a good time to visit.”

“What a wonderful little trail! With loops under 1 mile total, and right here in Steilacoom, this is the perfect spot for an outing with the kids out just getting outside. The majority of the trail is dry, with only a few soggy spots. We especially liked the water viewpoints, great for a snack break.”

“Nice little park tucked away. It's along a busy road but it's very peaceful and quiet, considering that. Nice little walk around the pond with lots of trees and vegetation. Parking can be a little tight if anyone is having a gathering at the pavilion. However, can park along the street or in the good-sized lot at the other park across the street.”

“If you are lucky enough to have access to this place, you are in for a treat! The campsites by the lake are spacious, the bathrooms are usually well maintained, and the amenities are abundant. The cabins are nice, if you are lucky enough to win the lottery, but they don't allow dogs and the Sunday-to-Sunday time frame makes them inconvenient for many holiday weekends, so we rarely use them. They provide ice, life jackets, row boats, a laundry room, games, sports equipment, frequently fire wood, and a scavenger hunt for the kids. The view of fireworks on the 4th of July is incredible!”

“Not a bad little park. It only gets a 4 because there are no garbage cans or seat to sit at or set your stuff on while the little ones play on the slides. They have a nice little gym set up for the kids . It has 3 slides a fireman's pole some ladders and a nice big staircase leading up to a big platform. Plenty of room for several kids. There is a football size or so field for the kiddos or anyone to play ball on. And a 1/2 basketball court. Right behind Costco. Street parking.”
