“Lovely old-fashioned cabin with modern amenities tucked away in woods just outside Berkeley Springs and right next to Capacon State Park. Sleeps four very comfortably, and has two rooms downstairs for hanging out. Lots of antique furniture and charm. Would recommend.”

“I couldn't recommend this place and this region more for a quiet and refreshing escape. Sandi is an exceptionally great cook and the breakfasts were delicious with a well rounded mix of eggs, meat, fruit, yogurt, pastry, and coffee and juice. We had the privilege of staying at an odd time and having personal breakfasts for 3 days during our stay. (be aware that this resort town's restaurants tend to be closed Mon. through Wed. or Thurs.) The room was clean, a perfect mix of private and close at hand for breakfast. Sandi was kind enough to have a fire for us during one night so we could take full advantage of the romance and beauty of this old and well decorated home that is meant for sharing with guests. If there is any spirit stuck about this place it surely took the form of the cats that were fat and friendly. I'll not forget the sight and sound of the cat NV as he chased a squirrel across the parking lot while kicking up gravel and demonstrating all the feline grace and agility of a small freight train. We loved the area. The spas were fantastic and the recommendations we were given panned out perfectly. There are incredible historic sites (like Antietam) within a reasonable drive and the Atasia Spa was well recommended.”

“Great area. Quiet, off he beaten path and cheap. $10 per night and campsites are spaced apart nicely. About 20min down a gravel road that is a little beat up in some places. No problem for trucks or SUVs but cars should be wary, especially after rain. Lake is gorgeous with great fishing and a few decent trails nearby.”

“Excellent place to camp, cheap and beautiful. Quiet, owner extremely friendly, everyone we encountered was kind and helpful! A stretch of yard sales took us straight to the property = heaven on earth. Worth visiting for a quiet weekend away.”

“My wife and I, along with our youngest son moved to the woods almost 3 years ago. We have lived in many places before, but this is by far the best of them all. Not only is it beautiful with 2 awesome golf courses, an outstanding sports and recreation center, a fun and vibrant clubhouse, and some of the funnest and nicest people we have known. We have made more new friends than in any other place we have ever lived. This is a rock solid community that is a rare find in today’s fast moving world. Hats off to the owners and members for making this such a wonderful place to live... The Moffitt’s”

“Love this place! Have taken classes on wild edible plants, tracking, fishing, and had a blast at mountain craft festival. All great people that really know their stuff. I learn a ton every time, always enjoy hanging out at the property, and appreciate that they skip some of the BS that other schools try to use to lend credibility (like quoting Tom brown Jr books or military survival guides at you) By far the best school of its kind in the area, enough so that I keep making the 3 hour trip from Pittsburgh. Hope to take more classes here this year!”
