  I attended the 6am classes mostly with Coach Kaz because it worked with my commute and my schedule at the time. I absolutely loved the classes. Normally the a.m. class is small so we'd get a lot of the attention to detail needed to learn the techniques. Kaz is a BJJ blackbelt with an MMA background and has been involved with wrestling since he was a kid. I can't say enough good things about the gym. I liked the coaches and the other students, the facility is clean and well maintained, there's locker rooms with showers, the list goes on and on.
  
  My commute changed and I reluctantly had to cancel my membership. Chris made it really easy to do so and took care of me right away.
  
  I'd definitely go back if I had the opportunity, 100% would recommend.

  I introduced myself to Chris Martin (co-founder of Nova Gyms) at a local wrestling event after recognizing him from his videos on Facebook promoting Nova Gyms. We talked about the Jiu Jitsu programs offered, and he encouraged me to check out the class offered in Pewaukee (it’s the closet location to my home). I was hesitant at first to try something this physical at 40, with 16 years of lower back issues and 1.5 years removed from an injury that caused a number of other issues. Not only was I concerned about the possibility of re-injuring myself, but also embarrassing myself due to my complete lack of experience, and my somewhat limited physical abilities caused by my injury. I will admit, I had a serious amount of anxiety leading up to that first class. Trying something this challenging at 40….can my body handle it?...will I be able to learn both mentally and physically?....will I hold the class back due to my inexperience, and will this frustrate the other people in the class? That was December 3rd of last year, and I can say today that joining that class was one of the best decisions I have made for myself. The environment in that class is far greater than anything I could have expected. Everyone, and I mean everyone is encouraging, helpful, and willing to take the time to work with you to help you improve. The coach, Marc Laimon is a wealth of knowledge, and an exceptional instructor. On a number of occasions he has taken the time to personally go over the smallest of details with me, showing me what I am doing wrong, how to make the correct adjustments, and making sure I clearly distinguish the differences so I know how to correctly execute a hold. As far as Jiu Jitsu itself goes, it has definitely made a very positive impact in my life. It has given me added confidence, increased my ability to focus, and has definitely helped me remain more calm in difficult or stressful situations. As I mentioned earlier, this was one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. I encourage anyone who is looking to better themselves to give Nova Gyms a try. If a 40 year old introvert, with social anxieties, and a solid list of physical ailments can, there is no reason you cant give it a try either.

  I’ve always wanted to get into some type
  Of martial arts training and I shopped around for options and the deal I got in return from Nova Gyms couldn’t be beat. I wanted this for my physical health so I wrote Nova a FB message and they got back to me with the greatest customer service, had me in for a couple free trials and I was hooked. The people there are friendly and very welcoming. They Made me feel at home from day one. I love the judgement free atmosphere and I love that all of the team members contributed to help me improve my game. There’s no such thing as individuals at this gym, we’re all part of a team and we strive to grow together.

  Before Nova, I went to a different gym. I fell in love with kickboxing, but personally, I was not going to pay THAT MUCH /month where I was, so started loooking and I found Nova. Seriously, I love this place. The trainers are skilled professionals who will make sure you’re doing the techniques correctly and will always check your form. I’ve been there almost a year now. The people make you feel like family and it’s a great workout. There’s no cliqiness, family friendly atmosphere and a great group of people. Stop in for a class; you won’t be disappointed ????????
