“Open to all. Very nice half-mile paved walk to see the 12 Stations of the Cross statues (each about 10’ x 8’!) set amidst a serene natural setting. The caretakers transport you first from the parking lot to the gift shop (where you pick up audio devices and pay a suggested donation), then to the Cloisters. Not many or any benches along the way so may not be suitable for those with walking difficulties.”

I got a large bourbon caramel iced coffee and a cinnamon coffee cake slice which was very heavy and filling. The cake is super sweet but the coffee balanced so nicely. “The store is very hipster, so I can see why a lot of youngsters like to come here. I ordered their strawberry hibiscus with 50% sweetness. I normally do 25%, but it said it wasn't recommended. At 50% sweetness, it was perfect for me because the drink was a bit tart from the strawberries! Highly recommend it if you're looking for something less sweet, but not in the mood for milk tea.”

“Whatever you do, GET THE HAZELNUT CHOCOLATE PASTRY! I was so amazed by it, I forgot to take a picture 😭 but it was incredibly yummy. Get it warmed up too. Also, the French Vietnamese Au Lait drink is delicious. Strong coffee flavor from the French chicory root coffee but toned down with the sweetened condensed milk. I found it delicious and satisfying. The coffee house itself has very friendly employees and they display artwork from kids at the local school.”

“Not only does Spruce Confections have yummy food (burritos, sweet confections) and delicious drinks (coffee, juices, etc.); every Sunday from 9:30-11:30 there is joyful music in the sweet courtyard on the side. A great band—string instruments and singing—has been playing for the last 15 years (and who I just recently discovered). Old time jazz and tunes that make your feet tap and your head nod. My dining partner had 2 overeasy eggs, biscuit and sausage gravy and hash browns. Gravy was a bit salty but otherwise tasty. Full bar and soft drink beverages...order specialty coffee at Perky Bean Coffee shop next door and it will be added to your tab+brought to your table. All this for under $28. The wait staff were friendly and cleared dishes as they walked past the table. Highly recommend if you are out near 183 & Hwy 29.”
