“Great response to downed mailbox after a collision, as well as repair of a section of FM road that was so rough that a motorcycle hit it and crashed. It had a big hump (left from a subcontractor that failed to return and smooth it) that all the trucks and trailers that hit it made a tremendous racket that could wake the dead 1/4 mile away. I was amazed at how fast they responded.”

“One of the best trout streams in the state of VA. It is a shame that a couple of land owners have about ruined it for anglers. They act like people use this place as a dumping ground, and for the most part the area is clean. I wish the state would buy the whole valley and stock trophy size trout and charge a fee each day, if you want to fish. Add a campground, a amphitheater, and make it part of the crooked road summertime concert series. Could also build a small hatchery, and raise the fish. Charge admission, create some full time and part time jobs. I think people would be amazed at the amount of revenue it would bring to the county, and to the community of Claudville, and Ararat. I do believe having a destination such as Kibler for trout anglers to go to, and make landing a trophy fish a reality, you would also see a huge increase in out-of-state licenses being purchased. It would be a win win situation for local and state government. Google White River in Bull Shoals, Arkansas iif you don't believe me. World class trout destination, and draws tourists from all over the world.”

“This is a relatively clean and adequately maintained public recycling facility. It's easily accessable and conveniently located near the center of Oldham county, and free to the public. I did not see any signs limiting use to residents of Oldham County. Most paper, cardboard, metals, plastics and glass are accepted. Some electronics are accepted, but not computer monitors or televisions. Only specific recyclable materials are accepted and no liquids, garbage, tires, wood, yard waste, trash, toxic or hazardous materials are allowed. The facility is under 24 hour surveillance and violations are subject to prosecution. Materials left for recycling must be sorted and deposited in the appropriate clearly marked receptacles. The facility is open usually open for self service during daylight hours from 7:00am to 9:00pm. It is usually staffed from 8:00am to 3:00pm Monday though Friday except holidays.”
