“After a 12 hour work day and then attending a social function, I was driving home, through Hazlet, and was so exhausted that I felt it was unsafe to continue driving. I pulled into the parking lot of a 24 hour business and took a nap for about an hour. Someone found that odd or alarming so Hazlet PD was dispatched to check on the situation. The responding officers were, without a doubt, the most cordial and professional police officials that I've dealt with in recent memory. In a social climate where police live their lives under scrutiny, these officers have found a way to be vigilant and totally thorough in the conduct of their duties while still treating people with respect and dignity. Many officers enter a situation looking for a crime or looking for a fight, to a point where they end up being the catalyst in the creation of either. Hazlet police do not appear to operate in this manner. Good job, Hazlet PD! Keep up the good work.”
