“This under-appreciated revolutionary war era fort is a testament to the men who fought off the British coming up the Delaware river. The rooms under the earthen, sod covered walls convey a time of uncertainty and fear. That feeling is not lost when you enter these rooms today - they are very dark and damp. Stop in them, with the lights off and see if you can imagine what they went through - you'll appreciate it that much more.”

“Learning about Philadelphia culture in this beautiful historical mansion is a great family fun time. We learned about the Schuylkill river being a source of revenue to fund the freedom of slaves. So many facts to explore!! #ForeverMansion #PhiladelphiaCulture #JudgeLewis”

“Los Angeles State Historic Park provides an extraordinary opportunity for recreation and education in the heart of Los Angeles. Often referred to as “Central Park of Los Angeles,” within its 32 acres of open space directly adjacent to Chinatown, park visitors can wander pathways and enjoy a view of downtown, as well as discover and celebrate the natural and cultural heritage of Los Angeles. Some of the park's amenities include bathrooms, water fountain, and benches. Plenty of street parking available. You can run, walk, ride a bike, have a picnic, fly a kite and even look for urban wildlife such as birds traveling down the Pacific flyway. You can see the Metro Gold line pass through the park. Overall, its a good place to hangout, do fun activities and watch the sunset.”

“I had great time touring this museum in the company of my friends. The art works are potpourris of paintings, sculptures, drawings, etc. There are restrooms for both male and female. Visitors should be on the look out for heavy human traffic during rush hours.”

“I considered myself fairly knowledgeable about history and most writers, but I was so shocked by the beautiful home and the tremendous impact Pearl S Buck had on U S history. Her story was inspiring and quite relevant to our lives today. They have many programs and the decent was so incredible that I was sad to have it come to an end. I will be back with my family as I know they will be just as awed as I was. I have now started reading some additional books by the author inspired by her incredible life.”

“Arrived at a strange hour and wasn't sure if anyone was around so I first walked the ground and shot some great outside pics. Then proceeded to the carriage house museum where I was greeted by Mackenzie. She was enthusiastic and I enjoyed the focused narrative she gave me on 1777 since that is where my own work has been focused the past couple years. A VERY informative museum I could have spent more time looking at exhibit cases and all that is presented. Such a great museum!”

“This is a great spot. A rare museum that isn't about selfies but just really meaningful exhibits that celebrate Los Angeles and its origins. And it's free now! And I really enjoy the store- they sell funky, fashionable things. I want to attend their events- they sound really cool.”

“Excellent family museum. Rare and interesting specimens (both skeleton and taxidermy). The presentation of these is very nice. The butterfly room is awesome for all ages. It's like a miniature version of Butterfly World (an indoor museum down in Florida), with live animals flying around as you walk through. For kids there are some interactive exhibits and some small animals to observe. The "big dig" (a fossil excavation exercise) is particularly great for young ones.”
