“The Hyde Collection is a lovely institution with a great story/history. It’s a nice museum for a shorter visit, but still well worth it. The Hyde home itself is part of the art, as well as its permanent art collection and antique furniture pieces. The attached galleries had quilt folk art and modern art visiting collections that were also enjoyable. The guest greeter in the lobby was a delightful first encounter. My friend and I were visiting from metro Boston and had a wonderful time today.”

“An educational Museum. It’s small but they do care about the area and it’s history. I wish more people visited so they make money to invest in further archeological digs. I’d like for them to use LIDAR and some other forensic work to be able to recreate more educational displays outdoors. Some metal battle soldiers and camp displays would be appreciated. Better signage and directional trail markers are needed. I learned some history I didn’t know.”

“Opus 40 is an interesting place. It was nice to walk around and sit a little. We visited on the way to somewhere else, which was perfect and I recommend. I don’t think it’s worth going well out of your way to visit, unless you’re extremely hyped for Opus 40 and want to spend significant time there. It is an impressive piece of work that one man put together. There is a museum on the property with old work tools and a video explaining the artist and the process.”

Military Heritage Collection of North Texas

Address: 20798 Co Rd 590, Nevada, TX 75173, USA

Museum

“Amazing—way better than expected! Well worth the drive from the DFW area and beyond. I’m not sure how I was unaware of this for so long. I thought this was going to be a few place with a few vehicles and some historical items inside. This is a full-scale museum comprised of four metal buildings and outside vehicles behind the owner’s place. If you have any interest in military history, seeing historical items, military artwork, weapons, or vehicles, this is well worth a visit. The number of significant family military heirlooms is surprising. Most items from WWII forward but some WWI items. The tour he gave was a spectacular history lesson. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed it and I will take others there. This would be great for showing history to families, organizations like scout troops, school classes, and others. Admission is free but we left a donation. The owner and others involved clearly have invested significant resources of time and money.”

Heritage Village Museum

Address: 11500 Lebanon Rd, Sharonville, OH 45241, USA

Museum

“We were here for their Haunted Village for the first time, and we were volunteering. I previously thought it was supposed to be a super scary event, but this event is made for preschool and up. Guests young and old would dress up in costumes too! It's considered "slight fright" and no one was jumping out at you. The volunteers were dressed up in fun outfits and make-up, but not gory. The Village looked awesome with lights, lanterns, halloween blow-ups, different buildings with a different theme, and a cool lighted up haunted walk through the woods. They passed out candy and light-up bracelets. The event was really unique to be going through an actual Village (that's actually haunted), and I love supporting a place that's preserving Cincinnati history and interactive education.”

Virginia Randolph Museum

Address: 2200 Mountain Rd, Glen Allen, VA 23060, USA

Museum

“This is an interesting place. If anything I wish it was bigger, and more people knew about the life and contributions of Virginia Estelle Randolph. Wow, what an amazing lady. This is next to a school which also features her name, as well as a very large "Softball Complex" in Glen Allen. So, be careful not to speed. Also, it can get very busy if you come during a tournament. Note that there really isn't a lot of parking on the North side of the street, and her memorial is very close to the road. I would definitely recommend contacting them before you go to confirm hours and COVID-era policies and operations. Ms. Randolph was a pioneer on multiple levels in the community, and in education, she even created the first "Arbor Day" in Virginia. She should really be the subject of a documentary, perhaps several. Until then, check this place out!”

New Museum

Address: 235 Bowery, New York, NY 10002, USA

Museum

“New Museum is awesome! It has great exhibitions and very greatly done design shop with local design, great books and more. The only thing I wanted to see and it was closed was the sky room with the view, they told us it will be open the following day, but it was not.”
