“Dr. Meredith is absolutely amazing. Not only does she help with my balance and cognitive issues she has an extensive wealth of knowledge. When I first started with Dr. Meredith I couldn't walk 10ft without falling down and my cognitive issues were very bad. Now if I'm going for a long walk I take my cane because it's better to be safe than sorry but I really don't even need the cane and my cognitive issues are better also. From the very first appointment, Joel was encouraging to me that I would be able to make a full recovery. He took all the time I needed for the many questions I had about my injury and recovery. As I worked through the exercises to strengthen my foot and re-learn to walk, he was encouraging, and always explained how the exercise would strengthen my leg and how it would allow me to regain stability and allow me to begin to walk without my crutches. He is highly knowledgeable, and he was very encouraging to me as I feared I might never be able to fully walk naturally again. “I started PT with Beth and her student Becca in February following surgery at the end of October 2021 for a broken right ankle and a minor left knee injury. I got started with PT a little later than I probably should have due to my doctors telling me I didn't need it and/or not really encouraging it. I was finally referred because I wasn't gaining my strength back like I wanted, and I found Grand Oaks through my insurance and online recommendations. I'm SO glad that I did! Working with Beth and Becca over the past couple of months has not only helped me gain strength back in my legs, core, and ankle, but also helped me gain the confidence to work through my post-injury fears and to try exercises and activities that I was scared to even attempt after my injury. With their guidance and care, I have gotten back to my pre-injury workouts and I'm feeling stronger and better every day. I'm still not 100% yet, but I know that time will come and it will be in large part to the therapy I've received at Grand Oaks with Beth and Becca. If you ever need PT, I highly recommend getting your care at Grand Oaks Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation and following their treatment plan (that includes those home exercises!) as they tell you to.
