“At first I was not satisfied with this school. I felt the academics were not up to par. my kids have been going here for a year now and I addressed the issue with the school and since then I have changed my outlook. Like every school and every person in the world we are imperfect but if you notice these imperfections and strive to change then in my book that is awesome!! The school has made many changes this year they are organizing more events to bring the community, the students, and parents together. We can not blame our schools for their imperfections if we ourselves are not trying to do our own part here at home. “I hopped on here because I was shocked to see any negative reviews. My little guy has been attending Kids Town for over 3 years now since he was 5 months old. The staff is the most attentive, genuine, caring, and knowledgeable childcare professionals I could possibly imagine and we feel so lucky to have Kids Town be our child's second home. Working in education myself, and with my husband being a wildland firefighter, they have also been accommodating to our sometimes hectic schedule. It feels so nice to know my son is in good hands and somewhere he is truly happy and loved each and every day. I could not say enough good things about my experience and I have successfully referred many friends and coworkers to their services as well.”

“I started at VAA in 8th grade in 2016. Based on my experience I’d give this school a pretty good review. Here are the pros and cons of Virginia academy Pros: 1.Good teachers. The teachers at Virginia academy are very kind and helpful. I believe that for the most part they care strongly for your education. Our principal mr. feathers is awesome and he truly shows that he cares about our students 2. Good environment. If you’re looking to escape a very crowed environment like public school, VAA is the place. At VAA classrooms are smaller so you have a better opportunity to participate in classes. You also get to know most people in the school since the upper school only has around 200 kids. 3. Kind students. For the most part, students at VAA were kind and fun to be around. I got to meet some of my closest friends from VAA that I still talk to today. Now for the cons 1. No AP classes. This school has no AP classes, instead they have online dual enrollment. For me it is harder to learn online. I think that having AP classes would make everything simpler rather than learning things online. Those are my pros and cons. I hope you consider VAA if you think it is the school for you. It isn’t for everybody. However if you’re dealing with public school issues like big crowds and poor academics, VAA is for you. For everyone else that is succeeding in public school, I recommend staying there if you think it’s the right fit for you”

“Our son (3yrs old) has only been going to Sunshine Playhouse for about 4months. We could not be happier! He previously attended 2 different “highly” recommended programs, neither were a good fit for him, one of which basically told us our son needed a full time aide. Behaviors they were reporting were not happening at home. So we didn’t know what to expect when we started at Sunshine. We immediately noticed the teachers have more patience and treat each child as individuals that learn at different rates. They set very clear age appropriate boundaries and follow through with those boundaries. This is how we parent so that alone was huge! We’re getting reports that improve week over week. Our son wants to be up moving around and they do lots of learning while up moving and being physically active and not constantly sitting at the desk. They must being teaching patience and sitting still because at home, we’ve never gotten through reading a single book without our son wanting to get up and play. But now he will sit and actively participate in reading up to 4 books in a row at least 3-4 times a week. Tears of joy!! I can not say enough kind words for Sunshine Playhouse and their staff! I wish I would have found them sooner!”

“We absolutely love Serendipity School! My older son started there in Kindergarten a couple of years ago and every day I feel grateful to have found Serendipity. It is such a warm and welcoming school, and even more than that, it is a wonderful community to be a part of. Since it's a relatively small school, everyone gets to know each other, and I have felt nothing but support and kindness from everyone (teachers, staff, as well as other families). We are very impressed by how much he's learning and how much he enjoys the work he does in class. I love that he doesn't realize he's learning anything new at school, which to me means that he is enjoying the learning process. Both my son and I have made some great friends there, and I am excited for our younger son to start there next year!”

“Overall I think it's a nice school. The food wasn't like that green sludge stuff you see on Disney shows (Meaning it wasn't bad) and the classes weren't too hard. I wanna give a shoutout to Ms. Ramsey for being the most incredible teacher I've ever met/worked with. Mr. Williams for always making me laugh, even though he didn't mean to. Mrs. Plesco for being cool-headed and considerate, though no-nonsense and realistic. I feel like I learned a lot about myself and the world here. I made the honor roll multiple times. Right now, Ms. Susan is my son's head teacher and she has won TEACHER of the Year for Prosperity Campus and Ms. Shannon has won the Bentley Award (Director of the Year). Ms. Margaret is the Assistant Director which has always been so helpful and friendly. All the staff and teachers are very friendly and welcoming over the years. Ms. Susan, Ms Jasmine and Ms Chrissy have made my son's pre-k experience top notch. My son is very excited about going to school every day and I know the teachers are a great part of this. If you are considering having your child attend Children of America in East Brunswick this will be a choice that you will not be disappointed with.”

In just over a month, we see how much our son is learning and thriving in the Montessori environment. The admin is strict with appointments and regulations, but we find that aspect positive in the sense that school security and professionalism is present. “As other reviewers have already indicated, Sunny Patch Preschool is fabulous! When my husband and I first started to search for a preschool for our son, we were worried that we weren't going to find a place that met both our expectations AND the personality of our son. Fortunately, our search led us to Sunny Patch. Ms. Jami's K-1 teaching background, combined with her Montessori training and her own creativity, result in a wonderfully balanced program where young students of all personalities and abilities thrive. She's caring, attentive, and fun. As a teacher myself, I really think Ms. Jami gets right to the heart of what preschool is all about. She does the things mentioned by others (themed lessons, progress reports, healthy snacks...), but she does more too! She provides a safe and nurturing environment that focuses heavily on play and socialization. Our son (age 4) is beginning to read, counts to 100, does simple addition and subtraction, and more. However, when we talk about Sunny Patch, he mostly shares the details of what he played with and with whom, what sort of stories he and his friends pretended or what new toy or game Ms. Jami brought out that day. For him, school is simply where he goes to have fun. The fact that he's learning along the way just comes naturally. Our son still has another year at Sunny Patch, and he's just as excited about it as we are! For those of you looking for a checklist, this is the one we used when searching for our "dream" Preschool. Sunny Patch met everything on our list!
