“It is time to stop for some diesel and so we find ourselves at Guthrie Travel Center, or as my husband calls it Velaro's. There is also a Golden Chick eatery inside, but it is temporarily shut down due to remodeling. We weren't here too long to check everything out, but what we did see was a little strange for a gas station. First off, I was running not walking to the restroom cause...you know this girl had to go! The restroom didn't smell bad, but there were wadded up paper towels on the counter, toilet paper on the floor and coming out of some of the stools. There was also a scale and a changing station in there. I couldn't get some of the faucets to work until I tried the very last one then BINGO we have a winner! Still not sure how I feel about those motion sensor things. By the time I came out, my husband had done fueled and was heading into the men's restroom, which he said was clean. I started looking around and taking pictures. Actually the store smelled clean. One of the employees was wiping down his counter, continuously spaying cleaner all over. I also saw the door to the Golden Chick that had been closed off with plastic hanging down from the ceiling, boards on the floor and with saw dust. Along with tons of fully stocked food, snacks and drinks was a corner filled with other products to purchase. Some of the items I've never seen before in a truck stop. The first to catch my eye was the white heads, for just $10.99 you can buy wig holders here! They also have very warm looking parkas.. aren't we about out of that season? There was also hats, sunglasses, purses, shirts, a kite on the wall that looks as though it didn't belong there along with the boxed up dolls at the top of the shelves holding the 2 lt. soda bottles and the wines. We didn't end up buying anything here except the fuel, though I do want to mention that other than the guy so focused on cleaning his counter, at the other counter near the entrance was a young man sitting that greeted us both when we came in and upon exiting. He's kind of hidden where he's seated, but was friendly and smiling.. this has been an interesting stop.”

“Caught a flat tire on a Sunday and was worried I would have to wait for a tow truck. Fortunately the owner of "Wheels of Steel" came to my rescue! He was a gentleman and assured me he had a tire and could have me back on the road quickly! He inspected my other tires and found that I also needed another tire and gave me an excellent price had both tires changed and had me back on the rode in less then 30 minutes! I will use him for all my tire purchases in the future not just because he did an excellent job, had great pricing, and was fast, he was also a genuine nice guy.”

Different selection of Little Debbie snacks as well. As Tops is based out of Buffalo, the stores in Buffalo and surrounding area offer more items. Definitely a different feel than Rochester locations.”

Seriously, most people who have shared their experience either expect Compass to be miracle workers or expect them to completely change all their policies to revolve around them. They are just people. Most of them care and are doing the best they can. I have only had one mishap in all my years with them. And the only real problems I would change are; it being hard to get ahold of your prescriber and the dental will Bar you from service after two missed visits. But those of us who rely on Medicaid transport, which is notoriously unreliable, should have a "get out of being barred free" card when Medicaid transport fails to pick us up. Otherwise, I am happy with my service.”
