“El Chevere Cuchifrito is a small Spanish eatery in East Harlem, serving up meat over rice platters and a variety of fried foods. it’s a small space with stools at a counter—no tables inside but they do have tables outside rn. the space is pretty clean. the hot prepared foods are on display through a glass display. didn’t see any menus so basically you need to ask how much everything is. there’s a $5 minimum on debit/credit. stopped here and wanted some quick bites to go. got some bacalitos and papas rellenas. was totally satisfied as those fried eats hit the spot. the fried codfish was season well and the batter was crispy and yet soft on the inside. the papas rellenas was really good—fried potato ball stuffed with tasty season ground beef. perfect amount of food when you get those afternoon hunger pangs. the papas rellenas and bacalitos were ~ $2 each + tip. service is fine”

We spent 20.11 on 9 pieces of Pan Dulce and two burritos! Insane amount of stuff for the price! The El Pepe is loaded with egg and bacon! The egg and potato burrito is so good. Make sure you try it and get the crunch topping. Game changer. I LIVE for their shakes. We often pop in and see what flavor they have since they are constantly getting new ones. “We like the light texture and low sugar cakes here. It reminds me more of Japanese style cakes that are less sweet compared to American style desserts that are heavy on buttercream frosting and alcohol infused syrups. This is personal preference as I also enjoy my occasional indulgence in richer pastries. Selection is limited and I am not sure if the pandemic had anything to do with it, so I my family generally pre-orders and schedules a pick up. We generally order birthday cakes so we don't partake much of the display counter pastries. We will be back again for our next birthday cake we don't feel too guilty about eating.”
