“Positives: Nice sites. Few trees. Beautiful views. Ready water access. Great shade shelters at tables. The beach is simply divine; soft sand, nice temperature, shallow many feet out so safer for little people. Negatives: Not close to the showers. Not close to even a pit toilet. The oath shown on the maps to access the beach isn't there anymore so the walk is significantly longer than expected from this Northview.”

“There are a lot of great little spaces to set up camp at Hickory Hill. There are several different areas within the campground that are sheltered with trees and provide a bit of privacy from the other campers in the area. Unlike Yankee Paradise where everyone is pretty much out in the open. There are many options for hanging hammocks and it was really nice that there were still so many ropes in the trees for hanging your stuff. It was disappointing to see how many people left toilet paper and tampon applicators in the woods. If you continue on the parallel trail another mile north of Hickory Hill there is a water source, but you will have to treat it. From the campground if you take the Willow Pond Trail to the east, it's a very pretty and fun hike to the beach. Taking the Willow Pond Trail to the west takes you to the main road. There are horses that run up the parallel trail through the campground so be on the lookout.”

“Good Day... It is not very often I take the time to leave a review. To support this I have been on the road for 6 months and this is my 2nd review. I will not speak of check in, staff, or issues that do not have any importance to myself... If you have time to stay here for 1 week or a month you will not be dissapointed unless you are looking to play load music, party with other campers and guests. Totally Quiet, Super Clean, Most Helpful, and amazing accommodations and RV Sites... The near by parks and services are also excellent.. Fishing is great as well... Respectfully Submitted...”

“Doug, that manages the park is very nice and accommodating. We met numerous nice people staying at this park. It is a basic park with not a lot of extra amenities, or at least nothing fancy. It does appear to be well maintained. The big plus here is the pleasant and laid back atmosphere. Doug adds a lot to that.”

“This was our 2nd time coming here. My wife and I stayed from Thurs to Sunday. We are a lot more seasoned with our popup trailer and we wanted a close get away. Check in was quick and painless. Made sure we had the same one as the one I picked with the online reservation. We got close 100s to be closer to the restroom. Probably should have asked for clarification on where our site started and ended as they do not have clear boundaries. If you go pole to pole it almost looks like 1 site can have 2 fire pits. Just ask at the office for help, will solve land disputes. We had to wait till the tent campers left before we could head out. It's pictured. Total trip was great. Not a lot of people and the weather was nice. They had a food truck one on Friday or Saturday. Only thing that's a bit much is their shower situation. I get they are on well water. All trailer sites do have water lines. So why do the showers have to have either push button or hold the handle for the showers. Also, they are preset to a certain temp. So make sure you shower when it's warm. I took 1 when it was 58 out and brrrr. But we like it enough to keep coming back. If we can get a seasonal by the bathrooms, we probably will.”

“Great park. Rustic area was unfortunately hosting a weekend long drunken crowd blasting music, arguing at 2 AM & spraying gravel as they made constant beer runs in their shiny pickup trucks. Could use more Ranger patrols.”

“I’ve been camping here for 15 years. I love it. Camping in October is the best. Some kids on their electric bikes go way too fast tho. That is the only downside.”

“This place is my happy place!. My fiances family owns a lot up here and we visit every summer. This place is very well maintained and managed nicely. The have a nice little gift shop in their office where you check in and an onsite bar, which is great if you just want to relax. It is clean and there is never any rif raff going on. Everyone is friendly and you can catch just about any type of fish up here. There is a spot to clean your fish and a nice public shower and restrooms....or if you gotta go there are out houses to use as well LOL !!! If you need a nice lot to rent or a get away this is perfect and right outside of sandusky and Port Clinton. My fiance and I thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality and will be back!! Thank you!”

“Camp host Randy was very nice, the campgrounds were clean it was nice to have a shower available as we were out there for 5 days. Restrooms were clean. Each campsite had its own picnic table and fire pit. Can't wait to go back again.”

“Great place to bring your kids. The river here is calmer. It’s still kern so keep a close eye on them at all times the currents are very dangerous. Great spot to pan for fools gold. I’ve always had fun coming out here and nice place to come unwind from the city and see the beautiful fluffy clouds pass by. I miss it here so much!”

“We Dry camped because of no amenities in an Rv (needs to be under 24 ') right after Memorial Day so it was empty and quiet the way we like it but this is more of a dirt bike and ATV park and all the trails are for them so it would be loud at a busy time. Loved campsite #10 and they have fire pits. Campground has 20 sites.one loop has 1-10 sites then another loop has 11 -20 . They do have vault toilets”

“This was our second time camping here. We enjoyed our time there. The people who camp here are very nice the camp hosts were kind. The campgrounds are always so clean when we get there. There wasn't a lot of people in the area we were in so it was nice a quiet. The camping spot we were at was spacious and the bathroom was close. We really enjoy our time at St. Francois.”

“This is a wonderful campground immediately off of the Blue Ridge mountain Parkway. Not only are the views fantastic from the campground but the sites are very spacious. Spaced out well and provide great privacy. The restrooms were very clean and they provided free washer and dryer. Each site had a nice picnic table and a fire ring. Definitely planning on returning to this great campground in the future.”

“Golden Eagle was our first stop on our camping journey through Colorado with our bumper pull camper. Knowing where to turn and go is a little challenging in the dark so I definitely recommend arriving while the sun is up. Upon arrival we stopped to read the Map where a group of camp hosts were sitting. No one at that stop offered to help. However, as we rounded to the next road there was a lady that met us and who was extremely helpful and nice. The campground itself is pretty nice. There's a dog park and a lake with plenty of wildlife to see. The actual lots are not really even so leveling everything up took extra time. Overall the campground is nice and we would stay here again.”

“This campground is awsome. Personalized service, fireside lunch deliveries, and complimentary picnic tables. I've never seen such a good looking campground staff before my visit to Autumn Moon. I'm already booking my sites for next year!”

“We had a fantastic time staying for 5 days at Lago Linda Hideaway! Most campgrounds in the area are first come first served, but our group had seven people with 3-4 vehicles and a travel trailer coming from three different states on a holiday weekend so we preferred to reserve our sites to assure we could be close together. Unfortunately, a turn in the weather caused a few people in our group to cancel, but despite the weather, the remaining members of our group had a great time hanging out at camp and driving into Red River Gorge to climb and hike. The owners and staff were super friendly and helpful. We were able to switch sites easily (and we reimbursed the difference) since we had a smaller group. The cafe/store had ice cream, water, snacks, ice, firewood and served meals at a reasonable price. We used the Shakeout Shack and pavilion quite a bit to cook, play board games and hide from the rain. We also took advantage of the laundry room to wash our wet clothes after getting drenched, but when the clouds cleared there was plenty to keep us occupied right at camp. We brought our inflatable paddle boards but it was a haul for us to bring them down the slope to the lake. If staying at one of the lakeside cabins, we definitely would have taken the time to use them. Instead, a couple from our group borrowed kayaks available for use at the dock. On Saturday night we ate food we bought at the cafe and listened to live music on the deck. The showers and restrooms were decent but I think it would be a bonus to have another restroom or pit toilets near sites #1, 2 and 3, because it's a long walk to the bathhouses. I definitely recommend this campground to anyone visiting the Red River Gorge or even just wanting a nice retreat from home.”

“Camp A Way Campground is our 128th stop and we stayed for 7 days. Very convenient to I80 and 180 and less than 10 minutes to downtown. Check in was quick and the staff was personable/professional and we were escorted to our site. Chose a patio site (smoker, fire pit, patio furniture, swing and extra landscaping) - our site was huge! Speaking of huge, the dog park was one of the biggest we have run across in our travel and had nice grass. The park is kept very clean as was the laundry room. There are very mature trees throughout the park which provide excellent shade on the warm days. In terms of road noise, there is some but hardly noticeable inside. If you have kids, this place would be excellent given all the activities they have available. All in all, would rate this park a 4.5 and would definitely stay here again in the future. Connectivity (2:30 pm): Verizon 241.0 down/26.8 up; T-Mobile 71.8 down/3.89 up; Camp WiFi 70.0 down/42.7 up and was excellent throughout our stay.”

“I blew a tire on the way down and near tire off my rim. Felt stuck and limited service I asked the counterlady (hope that is a term) and she quickly jumped up and tracked down Rex who was just outside. Rex proceeded to give me the number of my savior mohave powersports. Made it home thanks to Rex and quick support from my favorite place which my mother and I are her bout 30% of the yearly weekends. I like cottonwood from beginning to end great people. In the end... maybe my favorite place on the map. Love you all. Keep visiting.”

“Dairy Creek Camp West is the larger of the 2 camping areas at LL Stub Stewart State Park. The camp west area has larger camp sites that are spaced further apart surrounded with a larger and denser wooded area. The area has access to a lot of hiking and biking trails as well as the famous Banks - Vernonia trail which is a wide paved trail through the coast range. The camp west area also has a large tent area with a restroom area and several water pumps for fresh water.”
