“My family is in the business of flipping homes and my dad is a contractor, so I got into my home renovation project with pretty reasonable expectations. I just needed someone who could communicate well and present me with solutions, not a slew of additional problems. Contractors get a bad reputation due to misaligned expectations -- but Mike and his team beat all of mine. 1) Communication & organization - Mike was the most communicative and responsive person I've worked with in a long time. He was on top of everything, always responded in a timely manner, and was clear about everything that needed to be done. I find this is the hardest part to get from a contractor and spoke with several others before going with him and his team. He was organized in terms of scheduling, ordering things, and invoicing. 2) Timing & flexibility - My close date kept getting moved, but Mike worked with me and was really flexible around scheduling to not only make sure that they got in ASAP so I could move in. And when construction needed to go a bit long, we worked it out so that I could move my stuff in and they would work around it. 3) Work quality - I'm in an older building, so some updates needed to be done, but I didn't gut renovate, just a few things here and there, but you can't even tell there work was done bc it seamlessly fit into the space (looks like it was there the whole time / like new). I'm excited to eventually 4) Price - I knew it would be more expensive than I thought since it's NYC (my family does renovations out of state) and it def was, but I've seen "cheap" contractor work vs high end... and it really depends on what you want... so I would say if your priorities if getting things done correctly and well, getting it done in a certain time frame, and not needing to be all over the project yourself/handhold the project -- you get great value. Love my new place and the work Mike and team did, I'm looking forward to working with them again in the future!”

“The BEST RECORD STORE IN GREENSBORO. While hidden just off Spring Garden, this is by far the best record store I've been to, with amazing, rare, sealed finds, as well as a plethora of records you didn't even know you wanted until you walked in the door. The owner is incredibly nice and will help you find anything you want or play test anything you want to hear. I plan on making this place a regular place I go to anytime I'm in Greensboro! Note: Don't go with a big group. Store does have a limit of four people in the store at all times, given the pandemic. It is also a knock first entrance and the owner will have to let you in, so have patience and he'll help you out with getting in and any wait you may have. Wear a mask!”

“My daughter needs to submit a video/audio recording for her college application music supplemental material. I was originally trying to do it myself, but daughter's music teacher suggested that we use a professional recording studio. I went on yelp and searched, Studio One was one of the choices. I decided to give Studio One a try. From the start of making appointment till we received the final finished video/audio clip, Mr. Willis Lin provided us very high-quality professional services. Since I never visited the studio before the day of recording, I asked very detailed questions about the piano in the studio. Mr. Lin promised that he would also tune the piano to make sure the piano is in tune for our piano accompanist. The sound and video production are very high quality. My daughter said the recording sounded better than she actually played. Mr. Lin also worked very closely with me to make sure I am happy with the cover, and the title location of cover for the video/audio clip. In the end we receive a very high-quality video/audio recording and it is just beautiful. We had great experience working with Mr. Lin and would definitely go back when we need music recording in the future.”

“The Great Escape has been a Nashville institution since the late 70s. The downtown location was amazing and I still miss it. But they moved to this new location on Charlotte in 2010. Growing pains of the new Nashville, that prime location was no longer affordable. The Charlotte location is fine though, plenty of square footage and ample parking. They have lots of music, movies, memorabilia and comics. I find something to buy every time I'm out there. They have sidewalk sales regularly to clear inventory as well. While it lacks the charm and cool location of the downtown store, it's still definitely worth visiting, and you can get some bargains there.”

Everything is as described, but their real secret is that they have an outstanding staff behind the inventory. No matter how good the item, if you don't have employees like Nicole, and also Samantha Curtis (in the Warehouse), you have a bad operation. The LV's support team is what will keep me shopping there. They are kind, efficient, and honest. Highest rating I could give to any shopping experience, including full retail brick and mortar showrooms.
