“I am so sorry to read about Laura's negative experience with this library. I live in Sandwich, and even though the town has built a new library, Yorkville library is where we go. I won't go into detail about the Sandwich library only that it is ruled by the "can't do" and a slew of other not available, no no and no. The Yorkville library is such a well built and organized library. The people that work there are the most helpful and friendly people. I love the quiet rooms. The room with the Kennedy rockers is fantastic. I take my three year old granddaughter there often. So grateful for the opportunity to show her quiet is the decorum/respect for libraries. ”

Classes and seminars, book readings, etc., are offered. TIP: Lookup library books online through their website first if you know exactly what you want.”

Environment was nice with an antique feel to some areas (good thing). Only drawback was limited parking (which I guess is not so limited, once you're familiar with the place).”

I would have to drive 22 min to the next copy center for a 10 or 20 cent copy. I also can get all kinds of books no matter what Library in the county it comes from. I love the convenience. “This is my favorite library. It is part of a community center. It has a cafe, piano room and more. When you are in the cafe you are in the library too. The next room has more books and a welcome desk for the whole community center. Upstairs is the children's library room. Very friendly staff. The atmosphere is just right for reading of course and maybe just sitting for peace and quiet. ”

The books seem to be a bit on the older side and I wish there were more books for young adults (maybe I am not looking hard enough). The website is useful for finding a book you might like.
