“This is the best place I've ever stayed, and it was off season. (Update below). I've been around the world, I've stayed in a lot of places, but this place offers a cozy room with fireplace overlooking a vineyard, private patio, evening wine and cheese, full breakfast, and free bicycles. With less than 10 rooms on site, you get a quality experience. I do not want to say more, because I don't like to share too many secrets about my favorite places, but I'll promise to update this if it ever becomes the second best place. Update: Still the best place. I did finally find something to complain about. I wouldn't be an honest reviewer if I did not mention it. The fan in the bathroom is on a switch and a steam sensor. There are times when I want the fan to run without steam buildup in the room.”

Our double queen room was very clean, with a nice shower and comfortable beds. Microwave, mini fridge, desk, and TV were present and functional. Checkout was easy, with minimal contact. We plan to stay again in the future.”

“I really love Dan and Ruth Ann. I’ve been staying at the Raven regularly since early 2019 and I always look forward to it. Things I especially love: it’s a fairly scent free home so it’s really good place for people with chemical sensitivities, the beds are comfortable and clean, and Dan and Ruth Ann do their very best to work with people who have food sensitivities. Oh, and having deep philosophical conversations with Dan while he cleans is also a big plus for me 😁”

The staff is all friendly and super helpful. As far as location this is one of the best places you can be. Walking distance from HEB and the riverwalk. Quiet area and safe yet still in downtown. “This hotel is much more charming than the photos. Especially the rooms. Had a room with a tub and that was nice. The furniture is a nice design. There’s a great selection of teas and coffees in the room. Some major points are lost on lack of body wash, ironing board and mini fridge. Tried getting a chair for the shower and there’s only 1 for the whole hotel. Be prepared to take stairs starting with the entrance. It is not an accessible hotel. Whatever you do avoid the restaurant, food took over n hour to show up and was very mediocre and dry. Not worth €90 for 2 lunches.”

“We were unable to get a spot earlier last week - April (it's very popular, especially with birders) but the ranger told us to try Monday or Tuesday after noon and we were able to choose from 3 open spaces, though only one would have been available for an RV. People in RVs will happily stay for the 14 day maximum, though you can go down the road to the much more remote Proctor campground and wait for a space to open up. Proctor offers dispersed camping, far from the neighbors, but it's lower elevation and in shrubs instead of trees. At Bog Springs, we noticed that the RV next to the toilet relocated to another spot when we were packing up, so it's not hard to get an ideal space if you have time and patience. We only stayed one night and had a great site in the back (sites 9 &10 by the Dutch John Spring trail are tents only). Each site has 1 or 2 picnic tables, fire pits, access to potable water (wonderful!) and ample trees to shade you or to hang a hammock. The campers across the street were camping in the hammocks. As it's getting hot in April in Arizona, it's lovely to be at this camp site that is in the low 80s during the day when it's 90s in Tucson. It dropped to the mid 40s at night, which was perfect sleeping bag weather. In the morning, we were visited by turkeys and deer strolling through.”
