“We had a wonderful time! The property was beautiful and clean. We enjoyed a couple of kid free nights, cooking food on the bbq and hanging out in the hot tub. Wine glasses were provided 😅 along with all the other necessities. They even had warm bath robes for lounging after the hot tub and shower! The owners were also very nice. Kept to themselves while we enjoyed our stay, but were more than willing to help with anything we may have needed. Would definitely visit again!”

“Clean and nice rooms!! I really loved this hotel!! Only down side for me was the parking... small and tight parking spots and alot of not nice people were double parking so there were even less places to park. Besides that I really liked everything else about our 10 day stay there.”

“Nice, clean, flat, fresh gravel sites, pull through with full-hookups. New power pedestals and sewer caps. Under new ownership as a few weeks ago and he was very nice, made sure we had everything we needed. We stayed one night for $40. Very quiet other than the train that went by a few times. We would definitely stay here again when passing through.”

“I have never stayed here or anything else. I have only been to their diner, Pit Stop, good food, and friendly staff. I also use the gas station frequently. Good fuel prices. I just don't gamble, so I can't comment on the casino portion. Good location, easy on and off for the highway.”

“Excellent place. I have been coming here since I was 17 years old and would not want to stay anywhere else. Their rooms/apartments are extremely clean and furnished up to date. Their location is unmatched right on the beach and A1A intercostal on the opposite side of the beach. The manager Shannon is simply amazing and makes sure to take care of you. You can feel the difference between a commercial chain of ordinary hotels, and a family owned hotel that truly cares about every aspect of it's customer service, grounds, and operation. I will never stay anywhere else. 🙏🙏”

“We enjoyed camping at their private campground. The campsites were spread out pretty far apart from each other providing enough privacy for campers. We enjoyed some of their homemade food items and also brought some home. We also had a good time at the farm petting goats and looking at chickens and rabbits. The hammock and fire pit provided by the host was very useful!”

“Older property but in immaculate condition. Loved our stay. Great parking for a truck and trailer. Breakfast was pretty standard but still very good. Room was dated but still very tidy and comfortable. I've been in hotels only a year or two old that weren't nearly as well kept. This will definitely be my default stay when I'm in the area.”

“This place was a kind lifesaver for my boys & I in September 2022. I stayed with my toddler boy for 2 weeks +5 days as needed. & was able to visit with my teenage son here as well. The new management family & the boss were kind, family oriented, & hardworking to improve this place & service. We stayed in 2 of the older rooms & they were quality & clean in all ways that really matter: beds, facilities, air coolers, tvs, refrigerators, floors, doors, windows, parking. No bed bugs! No carpet, had nice tile floors, so less allergies & germs. The daily & weekly prices were affordable & fair. The laundry room machines were low cost & functioned well. I would improve the rooms with newer bleached white towels & shower curtains, & machine washable rugs. I would also allow the weekly renters to air out their rooms more with some open screen window time. They may have made these improvements by now as they were renovating this place. The location is excellent; sweet country air, quiet, but so close walking to major stores, restaurants, etc. Much thanks again to you all working here! (So sorry about my late post. Life circumstances delayed me.) God bless you all & business!!”

“We have been going to Double Barr at least a half dozen times a year for the past 5 years. Patsy and her team are always friendly, accommodating and provide information about what’s happening around the island. We only stay at Double Barr when visiting Port Aransas. The cottages are all a little different from each other and have everything you need for a short or long stay. The cottages are very reasonable in price and provide a little home away from home. You are just a short drive from the beach and have your own quiet space. Kitchen is stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. There a fridge, stove and space to cook. The cottages have window unit a/c and a wall heater for the winter. On season and off, Double Barr is a great time. It’s clean, dog friendly, no shared walls, and parking for 2 on property directly in front of your cottage. Patsy and her team are always around to help if you need anything. 10/10 will stay here again and again.”

“My family of 6 stayed for the weekend and the house had everything we needed; comfortable mattresses, great shower/pressure, cold ac, heated pool, hot tub and just a two minute walk to the white sands of Siesta Beach. The house looks exactly like the pictures posted and was truly amazing! The garage has childrens' beach toys, beach chairs a cooler and a beach cart to carry everything. With a family of 6, I'm used to paying for three hotel rooms...so for the same price we got to stay in our own private oasis. We will definitely be back again.”
