“Come for a free slice of cake, a trivia game, and the not-so-sweet story of the owner, a German immigrant named Frederick Roeder, who became the first local casualty of the Civil War. Staff working here were friendly and helpful.”

“Built to be the home of Robert Harper, the founder of Harpers Ferry, this place is notable for being the oldest surviving structure in town, completed in 1782. Unfortunately, Harper died before he could move in and left it to his niece. Stop by if you're in the area.”

“Happy birthday Robert Edward Lee! Stratford Hall was the place to be today. There were costumed interpreters, guides, and a variety of informed docents who helped make the great house come alive. We enjoyed talking with Martha , who is a cornerstone of the program. Thank you all for a memorable day.”

“We went on the coldest day of the year! But the historical re-enactors were excellent. We enjoyed their stories and sharing about the way things used to be. We really enjoyed the gift shop too. It was a great visit even though it was way colder than we had been in a while. They had a fire in the fireplace. We were thankful for that!”

“Love it here. We went on a super slow weekday and there was barely anyone else there. It was great! A little hot but the tram they have helps out a lot with that. Very helpful staff and volunteers. Everyone was very sweet and informative. Sat with some of the staff and chatted for quite a while. It was really nice. We will definitely be back! Glad to have something like this so close to home. Love the self paced atmosphere and tons of historical facts and information. Can't wait to go back when it's not 90+ degrees so we can walk more than wait for the tram.”

“Very surprised that it's taken me this long to write a review. I have been ordering tea from The Phoenix Collection for years now. I drink David's collection almost religiously as I find it very difficult to find as fresh and genuine tea. I am yet to visit the museum, am planning on doing this soon, but I strongly recommend taking the time to look through the extensive collection of teas offered on their website, and you will be very happy with what you receive. Fast replies, excellent delivery, well packaged, you get what you pay for!!”

“This museum has a quaint library dedicated to fishing, hunting, and horse riding. It is open to the public for free. There are also sporting artifacts on display in the library together with some very old books to peruse. The museum itself is open to the public on Wednesdays, something I hope to do with my wife and kids when I get the chance.”

“My son and I visited this museum with our group of home school friends during a field trip recently. The home is beautifully restored, well maintained, and the staff is very knowledgeable. The home is full of history and information on the life of Amelia Earhart. I especially enjoyed the audio tour - using my phone to scan the QR codes in each room added a fun element to the experience. The students all seemed to enjoy the experience as well. I'm really glad I was able to participate in this trip.”

“Selfishly, we love this historical landmark. It has provided a beautiful backdrop for so many photo shoots but it also is just an unprotected area around much growth in Zionsville. Love it.”
