George Ranch Historical Park Visitor Center

We went on the coldest day of the year! But the historical re-enactors were excellent. We enjoyed their stories and sharing about the way things used to be. We really enjoyed the gift shop too. It was a great visit even though it was way colder than we had been in a while. They had a fire in the fireplace. We were thankful for that!

Different experiences for each visit. Definitely wanna go again to participate in more demonstrations. The pick up truck takes sometime to fetch us so we always walk instead.

I loved the place and enjoyed my visit!! When the weather is nice, the 1-mile loop makes a lovely walk. Go there if you want to learn more about old good Texas! Only downside: the amount of trash in the river running in the middle of the ranch is heart breaking.

Had a fun Labor Day BBQ tour. They had a few interactive characters at certain houses and touring the grounds is so easy with their tractor trailer pulls that rotate every half hour. The story is interesting and the homes have been kept in immaculate condition. It is still a working ranch with a fantastic arena.

I love this place. A lot of historical information. Very helpful cast and staff. The tram to take you to each site is a live saver on hot days. Super friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. It was not as busy as I would have expected on a holiday weekend which was perfect! Super cute little gift shop with some handmade items and magnets from a local artist, which I really appreciated. We went kind of late in the day and as they close at 5 it didn't leave us enough time to really take our time at each site. I would reccomend going early in the day. I will definitely be back and much earlier in the day next time so we can take our time and enjoy everything. The special events also seem to mostly end by 1 or 2pm. If you don't want to miss out go in the morning. The park is pretty large so, even with the tram it takes quite a bit of time to see everything.
