“I come here often with my son and I have never had any problems or concerns when visiting. They are busy with groups and sports games going on, but you can still always find space whether it's on the tennis court or in the baseball field or in the park. And everyone who comes here so far has been nothing but decent inappropriate, no obscene or noxious activities going on. Also a very safe feeling.”

“One of my favorite parks with a boat ramp, plenty of places to fish, and some of the best trails by the lake. It's a popular dog-walking spot for many locals, and the sunsets are amazing here!”

“A place we used to take our kids to go play. There are also fields to let them run amok. There is a ball field and basketball courts on-site as well. Playground was updated a few years back, but the bathrooms need a refresh. I love the kinda random bridge here too. Lots of good memories of the kids running back and forth over it.”

“I don't make it to CNC very often any more due to physical limitations but this place is amazing and I'm hoping it is still well hiked!! Red wing trail!! Not 5 stars because the aforementioned trail is ALWAYS muddy! Bring old shoes and you'll have a blast!”

“My wife, our 5 kids, and I had a great time at Curtis park. It was our first time and were already making plans to go back. This park is like no other. It has a 1 lane dirt road off of the main road hat leads to a locked gate. You have to call the number on the sign. You have to drive to the Caldwell Parks and Recreation office to leave a $20 deposit Nd get the key. But for your work you get access to a beautiful park with just your family. Our German Shepherd Zues and our St Benard Fluffy ran and ran. There is a large open area in front of wherw you park. There are restrooms behind that area. There was a beautiful raised walking deck path that stretched back beyond the woods ans water. Many cows in the field to the east for the kids to look at. There was also several fire rings? BBQ's, benchs, and 2 swings for the kids. This place is covered with large trees and dense brush and plants. The wind sounds so beautiful blowing through. Just a beautiful place.”

“We stayed at the campground in our camper for our granddaughter's birthday. Her and her family rented one of the new cabins. I was extremely impressed with all the campground had to offer. They have a nice big pool, putt putt, a store, on sight laundry showers and much much more. They also have a weekend menu. We ordered a breakfast which consisted of hash browns, eggs, bacon and a biscuit for around $5. Very reasonable. They brought our piping hot breakfast right to the campsite! Oh and also they had an ice cream social on Saturday night. I am considering having my own birthday weekend there! The staff is very friendly as well. Thank you for a super fun weekend!”

“Amazing place to ski, just outside of Palmer, AK. We took ski lessons from Melinda and she was fantastic. We learned to ski and felt comfortable, after never skiing before. She was so great! Recommend a lesson with her. The hills are great and everyone was so nice! Great place to check out. Loved the time we were able to spend here.”

“Nice trail with a view of the lake. It's definitely a lot prettier during the spring and summer months since it's a nature trail, but we still like to go during the fall & winter months even though it's a bit mucky looking. The wooden bridge is up to date & has a decent amount of benches & gazebos for you to rest and take in the view. They have a little area where I assume dogs can go up, down & around to get a bit of simulation, but I don't think it's off leash. They do have bins & poop bags at the beginning of the trails' entrances.”

“It's pretty simple, it's like a big soccer field. It looks to have concessions stands and bathrooms, but they were closed and locked when I went at 10am. Entry is the either the first or second left off”

“Amazing playground. Best playground we have ever visited. There was enough room for everyone to play and the variety of things to do made it easy for my kids to stay occupied. It's like a small amusement park. The zoo line and sand box was the best.”

“Nice out of the way park. I really enjoyed the scenery, the dam, rocks, and wildlife. The trail is very nice, just remember this is Virginia and summertime, so bug repellent is a must. Fair number of folks out, hiking, fishing, walking dogs. There are picnic tables at the trailhead and a couple more just after the 1 mile mark. The only downside I could really comment on is the lack of a restroom. Very enjoyable trip.”

“This 300 acre preserve is one of the many Southwest Water Management District Lands. It is a beautiful example of Central Florida's unique ecosystems, from scrubs to cypress swamps. This property is divided into two sections. The southern property is about 6 miles by road (see website listed for directions and map). The entrance is off Baker Dairy Road. There is no water or restrooms but there is a nice parking area and kiosk at both. Note: The site is called different names by the different management partners. The sign at the North entrance says, Lake Marion Creek Management Area, Horse Creek. The preserve is on the border of the South Florida Water Management District to the East and the South West Water Management District on the West. The Recreation Guide of the Southwest Management District Lands calls the site, Lake Marion Creek Horseshoe Scrub Tract. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission is also part of the Cooperative and there is a sign here by them that says Lake Marion Creek Wildlife Management Area. If that isn't confusing enough it is also managed with the Polk County Board of Commissioners.”

“There's lovely playground equipment, swings, a sandbox, merry go round, picnic tables, and a basketball court. It's a nice park with a lot going for it, but there's a bit of issues that make locals avoid it for other parks around the lake. To start with the basketball hoops are weird heights, and fling your ball away. You may get worse at basketball if you play here. Second, it's next to a flood plain / forest so a lot of mosquitoes. Make sure to bring or wear some bug spray. Sometimes it's not that bad with them. And lastly, it's a flood plain. This road specifically will flood if it rains for too many days. So consider the park closed on those rare days. lol”
