“Very nice place, I was reading reviews and most are saying there are no space for r.v’s that it’s like a can of sardines. That’s not the case there are very large properties with plenty of space. I stayed in a very large corner lot across from the park with my family in our 40ft rv with 2 vehicles and a boat on the property we were there for a month and had plenty to do. Our kids made lots of friends, there is a food truck with a good menu selection, and a beautiful spot by the marina to sit down and look at the sunset. I will definitely be coming back!!!”

“The trail here was very fantastic and enjoyable. I usually walked from the Browns Ravines Trailhead on the other side and the view from the other side was great. There is a grassy field during the trail, so you can play ball with your dog, and it's connected to the trail course on the other side, so you can adjust the trail distance according to you. There are a lot of picnic tables and barbecue grills are prepared, so I think it would be great as a picnic place as well . Fee area for $12.00 so parked the car at 99 ranch market and walked 4 mile. Strongly recommend !!”

“Great park. Very clean. There are lots of poop stations, a doggie fountain, and lots of people benches. If it was bigger I'd have given it 5 stars. It isn't quite big enough for the medium to larger dogs to really get up to a good speed before having to slow for a turn. But it is bigger than a lot we have been to in our travels.”

“Attended a wonderful painting class, hosted by Beverly Newton at the Richmond Community Center today. The facility was clean and the perfect size for a class of about 12. There is even a coat rack, kitchen and two bathrooms. Would definitely return here and attend another one of Beverly's classes! Thank you!”

“This place is great. Multiple fields for both baseball and soccer. Public restrooms and during the season, a concession stand. Conveniently located just minutes from downtown Ramona, this park also includes a Frisbee golf course. Professionally maintained and groomed, Wellfield supports all levels of sport. Of course, great for kids, also great for adult leagues or just getting out to swing the bat or kick the ball!!”

“My dogs loved the cold water and the random dog that was strolling through yesterday was nice. Hopefully they belong to someone close by. The water was higher than normal and hid a large chunk of the path and water access but it was still fun and beautiful.”

“Beautiful grounds and great place to enjoy nature. Plan on lots of walking, this is a great location to hike. The butterfly house was beautiful but not very many butterflies compared to other butterfly house I've visited. The train ride was a good way to hear of the history of the preserve. Bring lots of water we had a hard time finding a spot to purchase a bottle in here and you will need it.”

“A small park, open space with restrooms. Close to the public parking and very short walk to downtown area.”

“I'm Rating this solely to add general info regarding nature preserves. They are NOT parks. No nature preserve will have parking nor any easy conventional access into it. In fact, whether or not the general public is supposed to be allowed in there or not is a regulatory gray area. It's meant for wildlife! I'm overall indifferent about this place. Haven't even been over there, however I can't help but feel it's unfair for it have poor reviews for something it isn't meant to be or have to begin with. Gives me a soft cringe that it could so quickly be criticized by people that didn't bother getting a full scope on what it is exactly they're criticizing.. sheesh! smh”

“great little park off to itself away from the road so there's a lot of space for the little ones to get their energy out so they sleep well. lol”

“Easy trail and connects to American River College, which has a very nice new track. Lots of extensions into the nearby suburbs. Wildlife you might see includes ducks, many other birds, squirrels, occasionally mule deer. Good for dogs. Arcade Creek runs thru it so it will occasionally flood the trail and the bridges that cross it. Lot of trees downed in recent windy storms. Lots of Miner’s Lettuce in early Spring! Try some, it’s delicious!”

“My kids loved this "space-themed" playground. New equipment and fun for all ages and ability levels. Turf was in great condition and the area was clean. We would have loved to stay longer, but it was such a warm day.”

“Simple neighborhood park with weekly activities such as yoga or Zumba. Well maintained despite being so close to a school.”

“Absolutely beautiful. Thick trails and nice wild flowers. The community garden at the start is awesome. The entrance is in the middle of a neighborhood, I didn't expect that. Very nice path to walk along the river.”

“Very secluded, quiet and full of shade from the beautiful canopy of trees overhead. Seems like a serene place to visit during school hours; I imagine the boat ramp to the lake and swim area bring in a crowd on the weekends. Has a restroom and an outdoor area to rinse off from the lake beach area. This is a well kept and maintained park...you won't regret bringing the littles to play here; they'll love it too!”

“The park has an area for younger and older kids. Same playground equipment for both. The only down side is the wood chips on the ground specially for the younger area, this place would benefit of a rubberized floor. There is a climbing wave type of area, a bit tall for the younger kiddos to climb, it looks a bit dangerous. There is a gazebo and some picnic table and 2 or 3 benches around the play area. There is also 3 equipments for grown ups to exercise, an elliptical, some bars and a arm row machine. There is almost no shade to the area other than the gazebo.”

“Sad to see all the negative reviews that have nothing to do with this place or are a result of people not knowing what they are doing. That said, I can only speak for the trailhead on Calhoun Rd. It looks like it may have been updated recently with a new map. It's easy to understand. Also, it seems that trail markers have been updated recently as they are extremely visible and useful. There are still trees down but I can tell someone has been working on that. These trails are a great change from going to South Park all the time. And what a view.”

“Very good place to come and set up camp. Been coming here for years. The park and amenities are always super clean. The staff is usually very kind but we've had issues with some of the park rangers and their attitudes and inability to count money in the past. The state rangers (law enforcement) are always awesome and nice to talk to.”

“We loved being outside exploring. There's plenty of area for your dogs to run and explore. They have a large & small fenced in, off leash area. The only thing I'll say about that is be in tune to your dogs body language & watch out for other people not managing their dogs. It's got a lovely little creek to explore as well!”
