“Clean, very friendly, and very helpful. Husband had a job in area and they were closed and let's us camp until job was over. They provided cover for water so not to freeze so we had running water.”

“This park is very quiet, not crowded and off the beaten path. There's some shade next to the playground and no traditional large play structure, just a slide, some climbing equipment, swings, seesaws and merry go round. Woodchip floor. Nice place to picnic.”

“My husband, daughter, and I stayed at Holiday Cove RV Resort for 2 weeks. We had an amazing experience there! The place is absolutely beautiful and charming. It is a great location and easy to get to Ana Maria Island so quickly. The best part about this place is the people there! Gary was extremely kind and helpful with getting us checked in. The folks that work there day to day are beyond helpful and accommodating. By the end of the trip, I felt like we were saying goodbye to family. My daughter loved George (he brought our dog treats and my daughter fresh donuts and bread). We will definitely be back there again!”

“Well kept grounds and walkways. Lovely park ranger greeted us and she asked if we are familiar with the area or need some advice. Water was like a mirror until it’s started to hail.”

“A1 service. I used these guys for my front yard. The sod they used was A1. The owners are amazing as well. They both called to follow up on yard progress. EzPz is right. :)”

“Gore has lots of different trails to cover, and each run feels like it’s own unique and dreamy experience. I enjoyed their more challenging trails, and my travel buddy took a lesson which really set her up for success as a novice skier. She has had decent lessons before, but this one was far superior. The instructor had her on blues by the end of it, and most importantly, she walked away with great skills to build on and very positive feelings about skiing. I skied both Saturday and Sunday on MLK weekend and could have spent several more days experiencing all of their trails. There are amazing views from up on the mountain, and especially from the High Peaks Lift. The trails also all have really neat and classic names, labeled with thoughtfully designed signs reflective of their titles. I appreciate those details. Even though there was a college athlete competition going on, as a single rider, I did not wait in any lines. Plus the competition was cool to see. We also took Nordic (cross-country) ski lessons, which we had never done before, at the Ski Bowl Lodge area. This lesson was also fantastic, and the instructor really showed us the ropes. We walked away feeling like we had it down, and now want to get some Nordic skis of our own. The lesson was well worth it, and highly recommended. Gore is all-around charming and fun. The surrounding area is everything a little ski town should be, with great restaurants to hit after a full day on the mountain. I can’t wait to come back!”

“Daniel is a great person and hard worker. He knows horses! We bought a horse from him that was a great matchup. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy my next horse from him. If you’re looking for a horse or a place to board get in touch with Daniel at Wild Creek Ranch.”

“Full disclosure: I work on the Forest. That said, I can honestly say that the Sequoia National Forest is one of my favorite spots on Earth, and it's absolutely gorgeous! There's a ton of stuff to do, as long as you enjoy outdoor activities, and the scenery is simply stunning. If you like spending time outside, you'll love it here!”

“Super cool playground! There’s TWO of them!!! This park is in a residential area and has two full size playgrounds next to one another with a gazebo shelter in the middle, and large shade trees surrounding them. The bigger playground is super fun, has tons of different ways to climb up to the higher level, and different pathways to walk around on. There are SO many different things to climb on! No bathrooms here though, but really great playgrounds for your kids!”

“The policy of uniform, flush-to-ground headstones is wonderful. Having visited family plots at Westlawn to grieve...the crowded headstones are a distraction....almost like visiting someone in jail. The open space at Shalom allows one to pray and grieve at a family member's plot...without so much distraction. Don't know who pioneered this policy, but thank you.”

“I grew up here and never knew about this FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED MUST SEE hidden gem till I moved home this summer. Horseshoes, frisbee golf, hot showers! Yes, please. Pleasantly surprised to know I now have a place to recommend my "newer to camping folks" , the borderline "glampers" (firewood, ice, beer delivered to site) or long time campers looking for a new experience where everyone can trust that even if they are inexperienced, either the owners or the on site Camp Host, Curtis, will gladly be your CAMP CONCIERGE and guide you through anything that comes up when needed. At Kern River's Edge you can trust you'll have a clean site, clean river front access, and peace when around the campfire at night for optimal storytelling and stargazing. While on the hunt for a summer gig that put me next to a campfire as much as possible, this camp became the winner. So yes, I work here, but the owners, Rhonda & John (Johndra as nobody calls them) are unaware of me writing this. (And that we call them Johndra). Because of a company name change they are rebuilding their campground brand from the ground up and thus rebuilding 34 years of ratings and reviews so I figured I'd get the ball rolling as this feedback is authentic and I'm only a part time weekend minimum wage employee who is really just doing it cause it's fun. They have placed many boundaries on their camp, including quiet hours, education on "leave no trace", and are glass free, (aka you and your kids can walk around barefoot). At first these seemed too much these rules, what am I at camp?! Yes, turns out. Now that I've seen it for a few months I get that this is what people come for, a place where your entire experience has been thought out from the time you land till the time you leave with the goal of helping people connect with nature and each other, this is a camp ripe for the making of Family Memories that you want to pass on from generation to generation. With only 6 employees and 3 of them being in the same family, if you are looking for a more personalized camping experience that's focused on connecting with nature first, this is your new go to spot. Get it before it blows up. While nearby camps have over 400 sites, Kern River's Edge floats happy with 40. See you here. -Andie, Camp Concierge P.S. they have an incredible outdoor venue that I'd love to see used more. Moving forward they are open to a lot more things, contact KRE with all your outdoor connection needs/desires now!”

“This park was very nice! There is a basketball court, a tennis court, kid's playground, picnic area, and walk path around a lake. Pets are not allowed and you can't feed the ducks. I will definitely visit this park again.”

“Great little park to do a quick hike. We stopped by on our way from Cape Charles to Chicoteague. It was a few mins off the main road but worth it. Cool little hike through different biomes. The beach was pretty awesome and nice views. If i lived in the area i would visit it regularly.”

“Love the park but wouldn't go in the water. The playground is super fun and it's pretty cool to watch birds of prey go fishing in the lake. I don't think I've ever seen the bathrooms open though, any time of day, during any season. Maybe that's a COVID thing though 🤷.”

“This spot a few miles up the dirt road from Heart Bar is a beautiful place to spend the weekend. It's not the cheapest campground (especially with so many free Yellow Post sites on the way there), but it is the best spot for a breathtaking view, a lot of space, and a toilet (although with the number of flies in the outhouse I would almost prefer squatting in nature). It's situated atop the Coon Creek Jumpoff with a spectacular view of the Coachella Valley, and the Pacific Crest Trail passes right by -- these are good things, but they do make for quite a few strangers passing through or parking at camp each day, which is a minor annoyance. Overall, it's an excellent choice for camping with a group out in the SB National Forest.”

“A very spacious dog park divided into two areas with fences actually tall enough to keep escape artists in. There's plenty of room for running around and playing fetch. The ground is covered in sand, so while dogs will get plenty sandy in wet weather, they will not come home muddy. For the humans there are plenty of benches with some shelter. There is a hill, a tunnel, and a slide for the dogs. Plenty of dogs come here to play, but it is usually not crowded in mid day. A reasonable yearly fee is required for access. This is my family's favorite dog park.”

“A private, clean, wooded park area. There are some swampy areas so it may get a little buggy in the summer. A great place for sittng and reading, picnicking, or just thinking in the spring and fall. Also Ideal for outdoor photography.”
