“Great place to test launch our model rockets. Plenty of room to share with others flying RC airplanes. I saw some people playing frisbee golf along the treeline. I also noticed a baseball field, soccer field and basketball court.”

“Was there for kids camp this last week. It was great! The services were good, the salad bar was amazing. The grounds have a lot of fun things to do. Glow in the dark dodgeball, rock climbing wall, 9 square in the air, Gaga ball, some carpet ball tables that could use a little bit of updating. The pond has the blob which is great, a makeshift water slide that isn't amazing, but works for kids. The swimming area works well and they have kayaks and paddle boats as well. Some of the cabins could use some updating, but there are just so many that it makes it hard to do them all. All of the cabins have air conditioning and lots of bunk room. I believe the camp can hold a little over 500. It's not the newest, most up to date retreat center around, but it's a good affordable option for most people looking for a place in the area.”

“Wow! What a great experience! I've never hunted deer on a game farm (have hunted hogs) but it was great! Emma and Kyle were wonderful people to have working with me! I learned so much about the farm and deer in general. You can tell they take great care of their deer at this facility. The lodge was amazing as well! Emma is a wonderful cook and is very good at being sensitive to dietary needs. There are so many ridiculously big bucks at antler adventures and they take great videos of your hunt as well as pictures of you and your harvest. Highly recommend!”

“Beautiful place to camp with a cool, clear, running spring. I backpacked in from Hwy. 38 and saw a number of Pacific Crest Trail thru hikers who also spent the night there. There are some metal horse corals, a few with shade and a gravity fed water trough on the others side of the campground. I came back and stayed 3 nights in July and there was still water in the springs and a lot of wild flowers everywhere.”

“Hidden GEM!! As first time visitors, we were blown away! It's like having a secret riverside get-away, in the middle of gorgeous Texas Equine country. Tucked away off an old county road; horses graze just across the driveway, Guineas roam the lawn & you're only 15 mins from Granbury & Weatherford; ( ie: groceries, gas, Lowe's Etc)Nights are dark, and so quiet, you can hear coyotes from farms away. It's dark enough to see falling stars, often. The owners, kind hearted, genuine, well spoken and just a true joy to be around. It's hard to believe the park is less than 2 years old. I mean, it's gorgeous! The grounds are beautiful with big, old Oak Trees, the river is packed with families and INCREBLE CATFISH - shoutout to Eric :) We enjoyed our time here so much; that we are truly sad to leave in the morning! Thank you Jackie & Danny!”

“Nice place for a picnic or round of tennis. They have small hiking trails and baseball fields, and with the entrance to Tom Sawyer being closed off, it's a nice fallback to go to and kick back and relax. The only negative I would have is that they don't spray for insects, so there are a lot of flies and mosquitos to contend with. I've seen deer in the area along with friendly squirrels, possums, and other wildlife around the area as well for the nature lovers. I go there a couple times a week because I live close-by, and it's a nice place to relax and reflect. I recommend this park for you and your families for a day out.”

“Always love this park, lots of beautiful changes. The normal entrance to Owen beach is closed to cars and is open only for walking & biking traffic. The entrance to Owen beach is just a few feet more, where the exit only was before is now both entrance and exit. Bathrooms were clean and stocked. Beach very clean. Hiking still as awesome as ever.”

“I used to jog 1.5 from my home to here with 3 small children on bicycles. There was a cinder track and a playground on the hill. Perfect for me getting a hard workout. I did memory lane and traced the route from the home, then ran a mile on a modern track. I sent pictures to those little children that now have grandchildren. Cool.”

“This park is nice and open. Plenty of room to run and play. Two basketball courts, with a parking area, at one end with a shady tree area opposite them. There is an exercise area to the north side of the park close to the larger parking lot. There was a nice walking path connecting the multiple entrances to the park.”

“Technically Southern Pines Park does not any longer exist. Cedarwood Elementary School now sits on the property that used to be Southern Pines Park. When they rebuilt the school they took the couple of swings and picnic table and bench out and I guess they just roll that up into part of the school's property about 6 or 7 years ago when they rebuilt the elementary school. The school however does have a very nice playground. And the school itself is a wonderful School. Wonderful building, wonderful teachers and staff, and wonderful students I have been a parent at Cedar Wood for the last 13 years and been there since my oldest started kindergarten oh, she is now a senior in high school and although we do not live in the neighborhood anymore I chose to put my other two children in the lottery to attend Cedarwood instead of the school closest to our neighborhood. Thank goodness they both were able to get in. I can't imagine anyone anywhere else.”

“I enjoyed the place immensely. Kids playing with adults, dribbling a soccer ball. Beautiful spot. I want newer water fountains for drinking...for me and everyone else. I'd like and demand an update on the exercise equipment, it is needed. I want it for the community; I Jonathan Mark Ward am part of this community. I have spoken.”

“I spent a week out here. The owners are really a great group, they treated me like I was family. It is one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited in my life. I volunteered my time, cleaning trails and cutting dead trees. They don't get paid to do any of the things they do. You can tell that they would give you the shirt off their backs. I had the pleasure of meeting the whole family & most of the neighbors. I'm a State Trooper. It was nice they aloud me to be apart of their family for a weekend. I don't know how they manage to do all the work they have and keep up with anything else in life. They stay busy up early and working late most nights. I seen the guys picking up trash off the County & State roads. Plus, cutting fire wood, farm work that never ends.. Good Job!!”
