“Great place to go for a walk or afternoon fishing trip. Many benches around to sit and enjoy the lake and its waterfowl. You may catch a glimpse of small aircraft taking off or landing to the south at the College Park Airport, the longest continually operating airport in the world! The metro runs adjacent to the west side of the lake, but the birds don't seem to mind. You could walk right up to them! (But don't. They are wild animals and will f@&k you up!)”

“Went to play disc golf. Seems like they are installing improvements to the course, including cement slab tees, which is cool. Makes it difficult to know the route, though. Hopefully they will be done soon and they creat an online map showing the starting point and all the tee and basket locations.”

“Not a bad place to come visit and get a hike in. It's great that this park is right inside the city and so accessible. The wetlands are unusual and a good reprieve from the typical desert around here. The desert botanical gardens are nice but it feels a bit sun-dried at this point and could use some new signage and some more healthy foliage. The Paraje Primitive Camp display was well done and there's a very neat labyrinth maze that I think kids would enjoy.”

“What a wonderful park filled with wonderful & helpful people. Good vibes all day. Well maintained. Benches available. Secured area featuring small breed & large breed sections with a ratio of people with dogs and space that provided comfortable distance & solitude while also providing opportunities to socialize. Five stars!”

“Beautiful long (I think about 8 miles) trail for walking, jogging, biking 🚴🏼♂️ or rollerblading. Tree paths, grassy path, bridges, water. A few are near to the city and homes— so not very removed from city in some parts- other parts are immersive. Very lush. Several bathroom stops (average cleanliness - smelly). Several picnic benches, great for large groups. The Elk reserve is a cool little stop, you really need to look to find them at times. We saw 4 on our recent hike. Track your journey and pay attention to markers to avoid getting lost. Close to the mall, theatre and restaurants for dinner or other activities too.”

“This park I like it a lot because it has a big nice soccer field and they constructed a big fence so the ball won’t go over it. Has a nice track to run or walk.”

“Not gonna lie. I was only here because I work for the city and we had to clear the ditch that runs behind the baseball field. I didn't even know this park was here. Now that I've seen it I love it lol great space to let your kids or pets run around. Clean and nice especially if the weather is nice. Quiet nice park. Nothing too special but nice and in the nice Shore Acres neighborhood”

“June 4th, 2022 spring city community day again. Advertised as 12pm-4pm. We showed up at 2:45 & a majority of the vendors had left already. It was even worse than 2020 & 2021. It keeps going down hill. The food vendors were gone already, too. Very disappointing. 3rd times a charm, we probably won't be back next year. June 5th, 2021 spring city community day. I think because last year with Covid, this year isn't back in full swing yet. Hopefully next year there will be more. Severely lacking food vendors. Lots of vendors were giving away free stuff to the kids though, which was super cool. We paid to do some sand art! That was great. Several raffles to enter. Petting zoo & pony rides were cool! Live music was great! We would have stayed longer but the heat got to us.”

“A relatively flat and well maintained trail that has interesting and unique games and family puzzles to complete while you hike. The facility also has mini putt, picnic benches, shelters and a basketball court. Love how quiet and we’ll spaced out everything was.”

“First visit with a two night stay in our motor home. Took our six year old on his first kayak adventure. Beautiful park. Water was great. Wind was a little strong, but we really enjoyed ourselves. Will definitely be back. Just an hour drive from home so a great trip to tire out a grandson!”

“We were looking for a quiet fishing spot. This was a fairly quiet place. Nice clean spot with facilities. We spent about an hour fishing from the bank, but got hung up at least 5 times. Neither of us were familiar with the area, so I'm not sure if that's normal here or not. I'd love to come back with a row boat! We saw quiet a few bass jumping, and saw a tiny perch and blue gill. (Where there's tiny ones, there's sure to be bigger ones)”

“One of my favorite places to hike. This park has a diversity of terrain and trails that are not commonly seen at a park. You can walk paved roads or hike off trail. You can walk next to a lake, or hike up rocky terrain, or walk through a forest. I love it. Check out some of my pictures”

“I love taking walks down there all the time mostly after work just to decompress before heading home! It's so nice no matter when or what time of day you go. Between the breath taking view over the bridges & just how much of a pleasant environment it is...I'm absolutely in love!!”
