If you’re looking for a specialty or dietary food for your four legged family member- I definitely recommend. They partner with local and small batch natural companies and while I was in I was able to chat with one of the small batch dog food companies and they gave me a free sample to take home and try. My dog has a ton of food restrictions and he generally hates all food within his dietary restrictions, but he’s gobbled it up ever since! Definitely don’t miss this shop! They are closed on Mondays though”

“I had been very excited and eager to receive my first ball python. When FedEx arrived at my door, I was ready with the door open. I took my box into my possession and immediately opened it. It was packaged properly and safely for the snake. When I opened her bag and looked inside and saw her, I was even more excited. I carefully reached in to remove her from the bag. I was very careful seeing that she had been through an unknown type of trip. I briefly rubbed her then set her into her enclosure/home. She moved around the enclosure immediately and although it was suggested not to handle her much before she is use to her new home, I picked her up she moved around my arms. My wife and kids who are afraid of snakes fell in love with her and looks at her enclosure non-stop. We all love her, Ziggy, and will be purchasing another one very soon. Thanks xyzreptiles.”

“I took a little tour of Pierre's, and from what I saw, the business is very professional, clean and well kept. There were many pups of all sizes, and each seemed happy and playful. The owner was really friendly, knew what he was doing, and genuinely caring. He was very responsive to the dogs, and he knew all of them by name, and by bark! “I highly recommend Wag N' Wash. I called this morning to inquire about the self service options they have available. The first thing I always ask is if they allow and can accommodate aggressive animals as my boy can be quite the handful. The lady that answered the phone was extremely polite and understanding. She said that she would ensure that we had a tub in the back to prevent too much traffic during our visit. She also said that she would notify the staff that we were coming and ask that they did not approach to lessen the stress. When we arrived she held the door open for us and assisted us to our bathing area without any incident. The gentleman in back was very considerate and made sure that he never encroached on my boys personal space while still making himself available if I needed any assistance. I would also like to note the convenience of their services. For an incredibly reasonable price, we were supplied with everything we needed for the bath, including leave in conditioner and cologne for after the bath. They offer a drying area that is equipped with dryers that actually work which I have found uncommon at self serve dog washes. Not to mention the fact that they clean the tubs and other grooming areas after you are done. Other places I have been require you to clean when you are done. I felt guilty leaving them with the mess that was made bathing my German Shepherd that is blowing his coat. Having a dog with these issues can be incredibly discouraging at times, especially when a simple task such as a bath requires so much planning and consideration. The staff at Wag N' Wash made this grooming experience a great one, without any judgement. We will most definitely be back!”

So I really lucked out by living within a 5 minute walk of this place, and basically made it my second home the moment I discovered it. It’s got everything I want: Dogs! Incredible, friendly staff. A whole group of regulars that I’ve made friends with over the years. Coffee, beer. Art. Parties and events. Live music. Great location. DOGS! I’ve since moved out of Astoria, and this place really is one of the main things I miss. I’ve got countless good memories over the years. Hanging out here was a consistent part of my daily life and it’s really rare to find such a strong local community feeling, but this cafe has it. Go here, play with dogs, meet incredible people. You’ll love it, definitely recommended!”

“I started bringing my dog here because the last grooming place told me my dog needed to be medicated because she snaps/nips at the technicians. I’m so glad I started bringing her here, best thing that could’ve happened to our dog! She goes a few times a year and don’t have any problems. They document in their system notes for her like “cage shy” so they know to not reach in to cage so she doesn’t snap/nip at them. I noticed that she’s not very distressed when dropping her off and picking her up (which happened at the last place). From what I see the actual technicians care and treat the dogs kindly. I’ve recommended them to a few people, and they’ve also had good experiences (aside from some of the staff from the actual store can be a bit rude but not relating to the grooming staff).”
