“This review is for Chris Callahan, OT. My sons, now 12 and 14, worked with Chris for a little over a year and made significant and substantial gains in skills. My 12yo is on the spectrum and also has sensory, proprioceptive, and visual-motor integration concerns. Chris worked with him on executive functioning, self-calming, and almost imperceptible ways to meet his hyper-motoric needs, among other skills. My 14yo has severe emotional concerns, sensory processing concerns, and a history of self-harm. Chris worked with him on emotional self-regulation including mind/ body awareness and self-calming techniques while addressing his sensory concerns. Chris encouraged my sons' personal responsibility by having them give their own session summaries and demonstrations. Chris collaborated well with other agencies working with my children, such as by emailing our homework for us to forward to my son's ABA; having Chris' own explanation enhanced the compliance and quality of the activities. Chris frequently gave suggestions for tools to help my sons with their needs outside of therapy, such as therapy brushes, compression shirts, word-search books, crash pads, and electronic focus-enhancers.
