“Dr. Joan Pelayo is an incredibly caring and competent physical therapist who has helped me through a number of episodes of pain. Please note that I call her Dr. Joan as she is a doctor in physical therapy. I have a torn hip labrum and have been told hip replacement is the only recourse, but with Joan’s aid and direction, I have been able to function very well and without pain for the last three years – I only require an occasional ‘tune-up’ when my body gets out of alignment, such as what happened from a recent severe fall. Joan helped me fully recover from that fall after more than one doctor told me bone calcification in the hip could cause future problems. A congenital birth injury also causes me periodic neck pain and headaches which Joan is able to relieve. The addition of Joan’s eastern medicine adds an important healing dimension to her work. I find it so interesting when she assesses the health of my entire body by taking my pulse and checking my tongue. And her expertise in acupuncture – I had never previously experienced acupuncture, but can attest to its efficacy and as a side benefit -- it can be incredibly relaxing. Finally, there is an aspect to Joan’s healing that cannot be described – Joan has an uncanny way of ‘knowing’ where you are hurting – there are some people called medical intuitives and that is how I would also describe Dr. Joan. My highest recommendation goes to this wonderful and caring doctor.”

“One of the best places to go if you are having pain. I had terrible back pain due to an l5/s1 herniation and sciatic pain. I couldn’t stand up straight and wasn’t sleeping more than a couple hours at a time. After several months of treatment I was able to get off all pain meds.
