“I attended Betty Plasencia from 1977 to 1983. Back then the school's name was Cortez Elementary. I remember jumping the fence during recess and lunch time and going to the corner store to buy candy. I remember all the kids loved to kick the red balls over the fence and on to Temple Street. They put a stop to that after one of the balls landed on a TA's head and knock her out cold.
