“It's been a great place for me through my childhood, they make some really good food. I always enjoy my time there whenever my parents took me, the staff are wonderful and always give the best experiance!”

“I don’t know what an “authentic Alaskan experience” is, but I do know I’ve never seen a place like this in the lower 48. Beautiful little cabins with virtually no management visible. Check in and that’s it. Enjoy the quiet - except for the creek right next to the cabin. Can’t see the road, not that it matters. Might be a car every 30 minutes. No lobby, no 24 hours coffee, no check-out! Drive down to Grounds for Hope for a cup in the morning. My daughter begged to stay an extra day. Special kudos to Jonathan for working so hard to make us feel welcome.”

Even provided coffee, & breakfast cereals. Washer & dryer available. Young couple own the home & are very friendly & helpful. Made visit to Hope, AK even more enjoyable.”

“The Resurrection pass trail is very well maintained along the roughly 4.25 miles from the Cooper Landing trailhead to this forest service campground. There is a metal bear box about the size of a typical cooler which was really convenient for food storage. The campground has a few spots to put tents spread out through the area. There were a lot of spots we passed up because of roots or slope. The campground is elevated on the bank of Juneau Creek, just upstream from the waterfall so you can sleep listening to the rushing water. There is a good spot to get water from the creek just a few yards away. There is an open air pit style toilet / seat with a nice view of a mountain.”

“Gorgeous, well-maintained cabin on a knoll above Juneau Lake. Serenaded by the local Common Loons morning and evening, very serene getaway.”

“Nice and quiet location on the Hope Hwy. Plumbed cabins available for rent and RV sites with full and partial hook ups. There is a small market and liquor store on site, which means there is a bit of come and go traffic during business hours. Located about 1/4 mile from "downtown," it is easily within walking distance though there are no sidewalks and the shoulder is narrow in some parts. The cabins were clean, in fact when a guest checked out, I could smell the Fabulouso just walking by outside.”

“We had our wedding weekend at Summit Lake and it was wonderful. Very homey and cozy, the staff were really friendly and Lyndsey was tremendously helpful in the lead up to the event. She was so accommodating to our many last-minute requests over the weekend. She and her team anticipated needs (like getting matching clear umbrellas for our ceremony just in case--she was watching the forecast!) Food was great and the beds were very comfortable. Beautiful lake, and would definitely recommend going for a paddle on the lake, especially if the weather is nice!”

“Great campground. Good private sites and plenty have lake views. The host we had clearly takes great pride in the site. Toilets were the cleanest we've seen whilst touring Alaska. Slight downside is that there's some road noise from the highway on the other side of the lake.”

“19 camping spots with 7 empty or have reservations signs on them. Please Reserve spot. Right by the creek and not to far from the Kenai River”

“What a great cabin. Make sure to book it online. Leave wood for the next people! Pack out trash! Enjoy the great outdoors. This Cabin is perfect to hike in/out when not trying to do the whole resurrection trail, or pair it with other spots for the whole trail. Winter is perfect for skis. In summer I enjoy hiking or biking.”

“I've stayed at Discovery Cabins in Hope and had a wonderful time. The little guest books on the wall are full of grateful comments of former guests, so I was surprised to see that no one had written a review on Google maps. The cabins are simple, cosy and clean, amidst the trees with a the soothing sound of the creek nearby; what else can you wish for? The rates are very affordable. The owners gave me tips for some awesome hikes and in the evening I went downtown for live music at the bar. I love Hope and these cabins.”

“Charming cabins and hosts. The property is artful and historic, it feels like a throwback to a bygone era. Cozy rustic cabins are right on the creek and the hosts serve a delicious homemade breakfast including fresh baked muffins. We loved it!”

“This is such a great place to stay and to get away! The cabin is charming and great for couples, families, or groups. We loved the peaceful settings; beautiful mountains, wildlife, great fishing, and overall character of Hope. Our hosts, Skip and Lisa, were friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. We loved having a stocked kitchen, fishing gear, and laundry right at our fingertips. We would definitely recommend Alaskan Byways to anyone and we can't wait to visit again!”

“Went here to see the town of hope. Excellent town and campground people seem to think it's ok to leave there dogs off a leash here though.”

“We had family stay there and my finacee and it has it all. Perfect host Jessica and morning treats with coffee out front. I didn't know it was called Hope's hideaway, I'd stay there again for sure.”

“Nice Post Office with friendly people. Keep up the good work.”

“What a phenomenal campground! The sites are very private, which is great. If you can get a site with a water view, even better. The tent camping spots seem to have water views and they look really comfortable (picnic table, level tent area, fire pit, close to facilities). The RV sites are not all pull through, but nobody seemed to have a problem with that. Hiking the Gull Rock and Hope Point trails are easily accessible from the campground, a huge bonus. I would highly suggest visiting during the week when the sites are less crowded. You can book at recreation.gov or they do have some non-reservable sites available first come first serve. 8/17/20 - Back for a quick overnight. Even better weather this time around! They allow for 14 night stays here...really wish I could make that happen.”
