(July 14, 2019, 12:31 am)Hiked up from the trailhead this morning. Bring at least 1/2 gallon of water per person if you’re doing it during the summer and start early in the morning. I only brought about a quart and was really hurting on the way down. Especially on the lower parts where the sun is pounding you and it’s way hotter than the summit. View from the top is spectacular and the other hikers were friendly. In general I would not recommend coming to Phoenix in July. It’s just too hot.

(January 29, 2019, 10:58 pm)The views from the peak are amazing. You have to earn the view by a lot of hard work. The trails are apparently very popular with local people as well as vacationers. It is no easy task to do this peak but I observed a number of hard core runners actually running the trail on the parts that they could. I was sweating and breathing hard by the time I reached the summit but loved just sitting and taking in the view and resting until I was ready to head down. Do not do this climb unless you have plenty of water.
